And you’re free to leave your phone on in the theater, park in two spaces, leave the shopping cart wherever you want forever. Yes, one day we’ll all get to take the masks off but you’ll always be self centered. |
You seem to think that masks have become some kind of fetish. Not surprising from a group who made them a litmus test for "Freedumb" from the get-go. Nobody "likes" wearing a mask. What they dislike is a bunch of people with the emotio0nal maturity of a teenager making health decisions for others because "you're not my real dad". That's really all this comes down to - you don't want to, so you're going to prolong this for everyone else because you're nopthing more than a selfish git. You're not a hero, you're not "owning the libs", you're just someone stomping their feet and holding their breath because you think you're making a statement. |
I think some of you need to leave the DMV area and actually interact with non-hyper partisan people living normal lives without a mask on everywhere. You guys have some vivid imaginations about what you think these people are like. |
Nice try but masks were not political until Trump decided to try to use it to his advantage. I remember clearly despite your attempt to gaslight us. |
This. Outside of this area lots of people of all political stripes go around without masks. Some still mask but most don't. It is not normal most places. Now the other issue is the hyper fear element that some of you are perpetuating. A member of my family is old (75 plus) and fully vaccinated and boosted and has some medical issues that need to be addressed in shorter order. She has waited 2 years already and is still afraid because of the lie (yes I say lie) that she is in grave danger because some aren't vaccinated. You fear mongers bear some responsibility for this and when she dies of a melanoma because the mole the doctor flagged in late February 2020 has STILL NOT BEEN REMOVED, I will blame people like you. |
That is funny because I don’t ever remember seeing a hyper partisan pro mask movement. People who refuse to wear masks in congested social settings are generally hyper- partisan because wearing the mask is a simple thing to do two years into this. But I’ll just stick to believing these people are mostly self centered. At least now I can see who the selfish people are, like wearing the sunglasses in “They Live” to spot the aliens. |
LOL, sure. Somehow she went out and got vaccinated but isn’t seeing her doctor. OK |
You need to leave the DMV. Outdoor vaccination clinics were a thing in Florida. You drove up, they stuck your arm, you waited in your car and you left. It is a sad thing because she is truly frightened. |
It isn't funny. You need to own the irrational fears you are perpetuating. It isn't any funnier than people thinking perpetual mask mandates are damaging. Just because you don't agree doesn't make it wrong or true. Like Biden is terrible. Its a fact. Look at his poll numbers. But I bet you love him. |
I’m not really trying to make a statement, or own anyone or do anything of that sort. It’s just clear to me that masks are total theater, and I have no desire to play along with it just to make people like you feel more comfortable. And, in the places where I live and spend most of my time, there’s no requirement for me to follow the rules you made up in your head. I’m not angry at people like you. At most, I can muster up some indifference, maybe. |
This is the Bradlee Center free standing Safeway. That store does not require masks to shop there.
This woman is known in the neighborhood. I’m not surprised it’s her. Someone is trying to print t-shirts with the saying on them to raise money for ACT for Alexandria, but that charity has officially and publicly distanced itself from the fundraiser, says it’s not coordinated with it and will not accept any money from it. They’re not happy about being associated with it. Even Mayor Wilson had promoted the fundraiser on his fb page and now he’s deleted it. He also seemed miffed that the Governor didn’t tell him in advance that he was coming to Alexandria (is that even necessary)? People have become so nuts in Alexandria. Screaming at one another and celebrating it. Lovely. |
You are spreading misinformation. You are wrong that masks are “theater” and that they are only used to make people “feel conforrable” From the Mayo Clinic: “Can face masks help slow the spread of the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)? Yes.” https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-mask/art-20485449 |
No I don’t need to own it. Shocking that a 75 year old lady would not go out in Florida because of their utter lack of regard for her well being. You should own the fact that people living free made her afraid to participate in society because she couldn’t trust people. |
The poster above has it.
Things like pandemics, masks and vaccines were never political - until Trump and his whackadoodle MAGAism made them political. |
NP. That cloak of righteousness must get so heavy. Wow. You make all kinds of assumptions about someone who is saying that at this point in time, mask wearing has become theatrics and politics, with very little science-based rationale...FFS, even the state of NJ is about to change their mask restrictions in a few weeks. You guys just can't let it go. You wear those masks like a badge of honor, despite studies coming out more recently questioning just how much protection they offer (other than an N-95...lemme guess, you're so virtuous you've been wearing one of those for the past two years JUST to protect your community, amirite?!). Stop acting like everyone around you is going to die if you take that damn mask off, and stop acting like you get extra points for throwing the word "selfish" in. I vaxxed, masked, distanced, kept my kid inside, stopped seeing friends and relatives...I did everything I was supposed to do and we are now evolving to a point where the masks are no longer necessary. You've lost all credibility. |
