I turned it on and I realized that I just don’t care anymore.

I think the writing is really problematic when the viewer doesn't believe things that the writers want them to believe. I didn't believe Marty had no idea who ordered the hit on Navarro. But apparently, he actually didn't - it's out of character for us to be able to guess something so simple that Marty can't. I didn't believe Wendy actually had a mental breakdown, nor did I believe her kids believed it. But, apparently the kids did believe it (still not sure if we were supposed to or not). I also didn't believe the kids really had a change of heart, but according to the last scene, they did. This is the pinnacle of lazy, terrible writing.

Agree. Marty did not pick up on the sister? The sister so easily gets rid of the strongest character on the show. The last scene was so unbelievable. The last episode just ruined the entire show.

They should impose a 3 season max.

I agree and the way they talk about their plans on cell phones is a joke. They'd be found out in a minute.

The ending…….what just happened? Think I’m missing something?

Worth watching for the acting but the plot holes are epic. Why are there still drugs in Darlene’s barn after a double murder on the property? In what world does a cartel boss walk around Chicago with zero henchmen/security…the Byrnes have a bodyguard and he doesn’t?? What is the sisters motivation to topple her brother wince she finds out who actually killed her son? I could go on…

The first 3 episodes of part 2 seemed to crawl - so slow. Then we get to the last episode and it felt very rushed.

It should have ended with the viewers seeing the broken glass at the Byrd's home and a silhouette the person's head who was waiting.

That ending would have been fantastic.

I thought it wouldn't have been bad if they all died in the car wreck.

My favorite scene was the convo between Ruth and the Rapper in the Chicago diner. A glimmer of light amongst all the darkness.

I agree that lots of aspects this season (and last) became too unbelievable. With this second set of Season 4 episodes - Wendy really calling Javi to meet late at night in Claire’s office? Not believable that she would do that or, or he would go unaccompanied. Just one example of many.

Also, it doesn’t make sense to me why they showed the car crash as the opening of Season 4, but the actual event as it played out was not very climatic in terms of the story. Was that really a changing point for the family to now rally together? Didn’t resonate with me.

Not happy with how the series ended.

Someone please rewrite the ending.

I loved that too. She owned being in The Life.

Finished it last night.

two things:

With all of the risk the kids endured, remember back in season 1 when Marty gave his daughter a hard time for asking for a small amount of money (like $10) and then she shows up with $20K to get them out of jail?

....
.....
Spoiler:
For a few minutes I thought that when Wendy didn't get out of the minivan right away that the fundraiser that followed was "heaven" for her and it was all from her mind.
Or maybe it was her hell....when she thinks she is out but the only way out is death.

Then, no.
But if I were to re-write the ending, that's what I would do.

Jason Bateman’s bare ass ruined it for me. Don’t get me wrong. Love him. But I never needed to see that. Ruined some of the magic for me.
