General Milley

Only reason we tolerate Biden is Trump. He is a senile fool who armed the most horrid troglodytes, who will now use American tax dollar financed equipment to take child brides and enact untold horrors. How can anyone argue that leaving $32b worth of equipment is ok?

My word. The spin. I have no doubt the comms team worked really hard to come up with this response.

Bottom line: Biden lied to the American people.

Well in Biden’s defense Milley and his warmonger brethren were lying to the American people for years.

The US had to pull out of Afghanistan some time. It wasn’t going to be pretty. I do find it rich that suddenly conservatives care about the Afghans left behind when they fight tooth and nail to keep refugees and others immigrants out of America. They expect us to buy their concern… after giving us Stephen Miller… ummm no way!

Biden had to do a difficult thing that Trump didn’t have the balls to do.

he did it so very poorly,

You cannot blame the President over this. You want someone to blame, blame the military. They lied and lied and lied for years. Is it any wonder that the President may not have trusted these little napoleons? Milley was a three star commander in Afghanistan and for him to claim he did not foresee the US trained and equipped Afghan security forces being crushed is just another lie in a long string of lies. Is he that much of an imbecile that he didn’t know?
If there is some good to come out of this going forward it is that the American people will view the military with more skepticism, civilian control over the military will firm up, and we won’t look to the military to be the prime instrument of solving US foreign policy problems.
Now slash their budget.

This is on Biden and his State Dept. more than the military.

The military gave him other options. He chose poorly, thanks to Jake Sullivan and Susan Rice and Biden himself.

Blame the Military? Ridiculous. They didn't put 100k plus troops there nor did they build the mega Embassy. You want incompetence? Yesterday General Austin responded to the question on the planes we paid for and the Afghans pilots who flew out of Afghanistan. Tajikistan has our planes. State Department has done nothing.

Wrong. The military treated Afghanistan as their little fiefdom for decades, always giving rosy assessments, and then want to change their tune when people believed them. The American people were had by these frauds. Yes State does share some of the blame but only for believing the military.

Has this guy asked them why they didn’t leave in April when the Biden admin told them to?

I know how you all love to beat up on Susan Rice but she handles domestic policy now so you can leave her out of this.

What I don't get:

Milley said he spoke with Woodward so he could get his story told properly.

Yet, he hasn't read the book to make sure his story was told properly?

BS

From his reporting- lots of reasons. The one he hears over and over is that family members (kids, spouses, parents) were not citizens or didn’t assist our military and they were working to get permission for them to come. The state department has been no help.
