If milley did this, good. That said it still in no way makes up for his multiple failures in the “war on terror”, marching out with Trump in the summer, and culminating with failing the American people during the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. |
Yes but all those who took part in the coup on jan 6th are heroes and must not be investigated or punished. |
This, children, is "whataboutism." We don't have to pick between condemning and punishing the two. Both can be wrong, or at least hypothetically both could be right. Take off your team red/team blue fan jerseys for a little while and try to actually think. |
Wrong. Biden's cabinet would do their constitutional duty and invoke the 25th Amendment, something Trump's pathetic sycophants couldn't bring themselves to do. |

OP and those who agree with OP are so very, very wrong. They view defying the President as 'treason' but that is NOT how it works.
When you join the military, you DO NOT swear allegiance or loyalty to the President. The President may nominally be Commander In Chief but there are checks and balances to keep the President from having unlimited control via the military. When you join the military, you swear an oath, to uphold the Constitution and to protect America from enemies, both foreign and Milley, Esper, Haspel, McMaster, Bolton and others ALL had deep concerns about Trump and his sanity and were genuinely concerned that he might try to do something, to potentially even include starting an unprovoked WWIII just to try and stay in power. Here we see Milley upholding his oath to protect the Republic from such a potential threat. What Milley did was RIGHT. |
If Trump didn't get impeached for promoting insurrection, then I don't think a general should be court martialed for trying to assure the other super power that we won't be starting a war. |

Everyone on this thread should read this to understand the background of what had been going on at the time.

OP, Milley did not subvert any orders. He confirmed the standard protocol for any actions.
If what he had done was wrong, we would have heard about it from other members of the joint chiefs etc. We haven't, so... |
| This is just more of the Jan 6th’ers destabilization efforts. Anyone who thinks Milley is a traitor and not trump is actively undermining the the country. |
