Seriously, MAGA is angry that we didn't have a nuclear war!

General Milley put our country first. Perhaps the GOP should take notes.

I have lived through 11 Presidents to date. I have helped vote a handful of them in office and have voted against some of the others. I have cheered when some were voted out of office. I have liked the policies of some and have hated the policies of others. All of them have made mistakes.

However, only during one admistration did I think that our democracy was truly in peril. Only during one administration in the past 50-some years did I think that the President was putting his own needs above the country's. Only during one administration did I worry that the President was not acting with what he thought was best for our country (whether I agreed with those thoughts or not).

Donald Trump is an absolute power-hungry tyrant. He has never done anything without it benefiting him. He admires Kim Jung-Un because he would like to have the same power as him. He doesn't care how he gets that power, through rightful means or not. He doesn't care about the Constitution unless he can use it to keep him in power. He doesn't care about the people who support him unless they can help him get into or keep him in power.

There is nothing so low, so beneath that he wouldn't do to keep himself in charge and that included trying to brainwash his followers to believe the elections were fraudulent. That included trying to upset the cetification of the 2020 election. There are likely so many more things that the public doesn't know about Trump's inadequacies and his attempts to keep himself in power whether it was good for the country or not. Anyone who stopped Trump in his tracks is a true hero. I don't care if anyone "in the know" overstepped their boundaries to protect our country against a power-hungry maniac. Those "in the know" knew Trump was a threat to our country and they stopped it. Milley is a true American hero.

1. His phone call revealed to the Chinese that our intelligence knew what they were thinking. They were worried because of chatter about the South China Sea. If you don't recall, the Chinese were the ones rattling sabres.
2. Imagine George Marshall calling Hitler's top general the day before D-Day and saying, "we are landing tomorrow at Normandy."
3. Even Alexander Vindman said, that, if true, it would be treason.

There were other actions Milley could have taken if he had reason to think something was going to happen. Trump was not going to go nuclear. After all, he had moved the other way more than almost any president we have had.

Go snort something else, Jr.

Read the Axios link above. The Chinese had bad intelligence and were all spun up over nothing, and then we had exercises planned in the region. This made perfect since unless you’re actually looking to start a land war in Asia.

Never start a land war in Asia.

1) you have no idea what Trump was, or wasn't going to do
2) If Milley felt he had to have this particular conversation with the Joint Chiefs, then celarly he had exhausted other options
3) The CIA director agreed with him

At what point will people like you criticize the impetus behind these "traitorous" actions?

Gen Milley wasn’t the only one worried about Trump’s instability.
Not by anlong shot.

He called the Chinese - with whom we are not at war, unlike Nazi Germany - to tell them their intelligence was wrong. He was protecting the US and god bless him.

Trump used a militia to attack the Legislative Branch to overthrow an election. The only traitor is Trump and the despicable GOP who support him. Stop defending garbage!!

I think Milley has more experience and knows better than you what actions were available to him to avoid a nuclear war.

Woodward attributes over 200 anonymous sources to this book. It should be in the fiction section.

"Top general was so fearful Biden might spark war with Iran that he made secret calls to his counterpart in Tehran, new book says

Don't a single one of you fools agreeing with this sit here and tell me if this were the headline, you wouldn't be demanding the general to be court martialed yesterday.

Clearing up misunderstandings is a great use of our military. So much better than starting wars or advocating for that, as so many have been doing in their criticisms of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Interrsting enough, Haspel's fear, according to the book excerpt, was a war with Iran (and a "right wing coup").
