This makes me a little happier than I was yesterday. |
You trumpsters will fall for anything so long as you think your side is “winning.” |
so it looks like a bunch of people were upset right after the "perfect" phone call. According to the Post, four national security staff started asking questions right after call and even went to the National Security Council's legal advisor to figure out how to lodge a complaint. They were told there are no mechanisms for those who work in the WH. Which is why the CIA whistleblower filed a complaint - at least his agency lawyers weren't blocking the complaint.
And check out this yahoo story: https://news.yahoo.com/pentagon-officials-deemed-withholding-of-aid-to-ukraine-was-illegal-090046566.html?soc_src=hl-viewer&soc_trk=tw Apparently the Pentagon was confused about the funds holdup. "They even began to prepare a legal challenge to the freezing of the funds, leading to an unprecedented fight within the Trump administration." Think about that for a second. The Pentagon was preparing to sue the WH. So, for those that obsess about the whistleblower, remember, s/he is only one small part of the govt folks losing it over Trump's actions. |
Trump is a sort of corruption clearinghouse. Whatever scheme you have, Trump will back it, promote it, and provide crooked lawyers if you get caught. |
If Trump goes, he is taking the entire GOP with him. |
As he should. They have all been complicit and have enabled him for the last 3 years. Shame on all of them. |
Yeah, he has a really good lawyer too - Robert Luskin who got Karl Rove off in the Valerie Plame case, where he let Rove testify FIVE TIMES in front of the Grand Jury. I found this old WSJ about him "Over the years, I've come to the view that you're never going to sneak a pork chop past a wolf and if you try to trick people you're not going to do very well," says Mr. Luskin, who notes that the world of criminal attorneys is a small one where reputations are quick to gel, for better or worse. "Your most important form of advocacy is having an honest and candid dialogue with prosecutors," he says. https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB115019674474178800 |
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's former senior adviser Michael McKinley, who resigned last week, to testify Wednesday to House impeachment investigators, sources tell Bloomberg’s congressional reporter.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Laura Cooper will testify Friday. |
The House Intelligence Committee and one of Rudy Giuliani's associates have reached "an understanding" for now to avoid a closed-door deposition over any knowledge he may have of Giuliani's efforts to push the Ukrainian government to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, according to the associate's attorney.

From the Post article on Fiona Hill’s testimony on that thread:
“And in a sign the impeachment inquiry is widening, investigators were discussing whether to question John Bolton, Trump’s former national security adviser, according to people familiar with the matter. Bolton was Hill’s direct superior at the NSC.” |
He's right, the wily one. |
I’ll believe that when I see it. They seem to escape consequences almost entirely. |
