Why people are all over MU: 1. Dilution. When you open a consumer business, it's location, location, location. These guys plunked their operation right in the middle of 3 big clubs, which has affected them all by diluting the player pool. 2. Poor performance. Nobody wants to align themselves with a loser. It's just human nature. 3. Broken promises. WS is one and done due to a change in ownership. MU doesn't quite have the cachet of Washington Spirit Academy. Massive rosters, poor roster planning, playups, etc have damaged the reputation after only one year in operation. 4. Arrogance. All clubs have arrogant parents posting on DCUM. But when the team has the above identity, it opens them up for ridicule. |

This can't be more true! Very well said. |
1. Yes. MU has diluted the player pool. They have very good players across age groups that would and have helped other teams. I understand why this makes you mad. 2. Don't worry about the poor performance. Parents at the club see improvement and we are happy with the coaches and progress. We see the strong development, both with current and past players. 3. Did the broken promises of the past hurt you somehow? This is a new team. We joined this year and were never part of WS. 4. Arrogance? I have not heard a single post from an MU parent claiming anything. Your perspective is clouded. Given 1, 2, and 3 above I better understand why you have it out for MU. |
The original post was written from the perspective of an entire group of people, not just one. Different people have different reasons for jumping on MU. With regard to the arrogance comment, you should probably go back and read up a bit if you are interested. It's my observation that some MU (was WS) posters are/were arrogant. Perception is reality in this case. You asked why people don't like MU. This is one reason. |
#4. Metro parents were on here all summer and last year bragging about scrimmage and showcase results. |
It's one.. and we all know who it is, so give metro parents a break |
Not true. There was that crazy whack job who kept asking for scrimmage results day after day as if they meant something. |
Go back and look at the preseason rankings thread. Metro cites preseason results many times. It’s what they do. Go Spirit va! |
Troll. |
What’s amazing about this one is that she’s been here for two years now with the same old crap and lies. It’s like a profession for her. Very sad. |
I am not her. But the PP is a troll. "Go Spirit Va"? Whatever.
|
I agree with you on the troll. I was referring to her as well, not cheerleader Twitter mom. |
See this is why MU/WSVA gets bashed. The standings are public and they include goal differential. The games are close if they’re basketball scores. -11 goal differential in 4 games is not a competitive team. Scoring less than one goal per game in every age group is not competitive. And claiming it’s nothing to worry about because it’s “development” gets absurd when it’s now year three and “development” isn’t bearing fruit. And finally learn the game before coming on here and saying games are close. The 03 game vs FCV was 0-0 until last ten minutes and ended 3-0. The game was not close just because it was 0-0. FCV created multiples more of high quality scoring chances than MU and finally the dam broke. This happens in soccer. Doesn’t make the teams close to equal just close in score line. Anyone with experience in this sport watching with realism could see the two teams were at different levels. The 05 MU team in my opinion is the highest level team in that club. Hopefully for MU they can keep that squad together. Be realistic and people will back off. |
His comment was realistic, troll. F off |
This is so true. The scores don't always reflect how dominant other teams are against MU. These are just kids so sometimes the goals don't go in and play is inconsistent. The 05 team is the best but they let players play up to 04 that shouldn't be playing up. That would help them a little. |
