But how many goals were scored by former Washington Spirit players who now play for FCV? A lot!

Actually I count at least 4

4 that scored? I can only find 2. That said, I guess that is a compliment to MU if FCV won in part from players from the former Spirit pool. I don't really care to be honest. My DD has grown as a player and loves her team. She wouldn't think of Lea King. Players that are joining us this year are thrilled. Players from last year are also thrilled. The parents are happy with the changes and progress. That's good enough for me.

3 former WSVA players scored 4 goals. Many other WSVA players played key roles in FCV victories. If you look at the U18/19 FCV roster for example you will find 4 former WSVA players. There are many strong players still on Metro United teams in addition to the former WSVA players who have moved on to FCV and other clubs.

So I guess we beat ourselves then. I don't see the point, unless you are showing that MU has strong players that FCV wishes they had.

It's fine though. Some of the games (excepting the 19s and the 14s) may have been closer than scores reflect. And as I said, this whole thing is bigger than the FCV versus MU outcome.

Brag about scrimmage results in the preseason and then come up with ridiculous excuses when getting dominated. What’s in the water at metro? I’m waiting for someone to talk about the “sock puppet.”

No one “bragged” about anything during preseason. You’re delusional. All that was said was that they were happy with changes that were made. Which still holds true for the posts.

You are a loser for coming onto this forum and doing what you have done repeatedly. There’s no excuse for your behavior here.

Standard WSVA/Metro response. Here’s your tissue.

I’d show you where you could put that tissue if you were brave enough to say such things to my face on the sidelines at these games. Feel free to say something next FCV weekend, tough guy.

So maybe it is not the FCV parents doing all this so called fighting! MU tough guy in the house!

We’ve already established that FCV and MU have the biggest helicopter live vicariously thru your kid parents. My guess is if these two showed up they’d have their kids fight. Oh, and they’d pay thousands for them to do it. All in the name of keepin’ up with the Jones’s.

Where's the fight?

FCV guy started talking tough, just couldn't finish it by being a man and saying it to MU parent's face. Not surprising.

Uh...you are the one hanging out on the Metro thread. You are like a guy dressed in a Yankees uniform at the World Series tonight telling the fans around you to stop worrying about the Yankees.

Why are people wanting MU to fail? Why? What is wrong with grownups saying horrible things about kids. I am also disgusted at the bad things that are said about coaches.

U-18: FCV in first place in bracket, MU 6th out of 8 teams.
U-17: FCV 1st, MU 7th out of 8 teams
U-16: FCV 1st, MU 7th out of 9 teams
U-15: FCV 1st, MU 7th out of 9 teams

I’m not sure why this same conversation keeps breaking out when it’s clear that if you measure success by wins at recruiting ages, FCV is more successful and is going to continue to be more successful for the foreseeable future. FCV is the established best club in Girls DA in the area. Richmond is the best in Girls ECNL. I guess Pipeline is the best of the rest?

I wish MU more success than they’ve had, because there are some talented players, dedicated coaches, and nice families there. But I am afraid that they just won’t get the additional talent necessary to break out of the bottom of the bracket unless they merge with another struggling club, maybe BRYC.

For most of the age groups, most of the losses are close, like by a single goal. There have been a lot of close games, a lot. Let's see how things evolve.

Aren’t most soccer games close? in a competitive league, most of the games will be close, and the team that can win the close games wins the league.

But this player pool is largely legacy from Spirit VA. It's not the same club, but that is the origins. So close games and better rosters are an improvement. I think people are rushing to judgment.

Hanging out implies I'm here for longer periods. I am not. It takes seconds to click on a thread to see what the chatter is about.

Thanks though.
