The IRGC was right so far and the civilian negotiators in Iran were wrong: the US is not wanting to end all hostilities in good faith. It’s only looking to pause the war for another six to twelve months until our missile and munitions can be built up again and we can restart War in Iran 2027 just like last year. Our ceasefire is only a delay tactic until we can re-up on supply. It seems the IRGC is winning the debate because Iran is choosing to double down instead of lock hands and expect peace from us. We ruined our credibility when he deceived them before about a peace deal then invaded

You know Iran not giving an answer - basically ignoring outright Trump - earlier this week on whether to continue negotiations was prob the smartest action Iran could take. By not giving a response to Trump, you silence him.

Maybe Iran is highly disorganized, confused, purposefully strategic, undecided but man, they shut that Orange mess up! LOL

If they had said no, Trump would have just launched into more drama. If they said yes, prob same drama. If they said yes if, prob would have been the combo of the first 2 responses. So silence proved best - now Iran gets no drama for awhile..

That makes sense because a blockade is an act of war which shouldn’t be in place during a ceasefire which is an attempt at peace. You don’t have to go to the War College to know this.

That's exactly why JFK carefully chose the word "quarantine" to describe the blockade of Cuba in '62. Trump is too stupid to understand that words have actual meaning.

Not really

1. The title card said "blockade" .

2. That blockade / quarantine was only for "offensive weapons"

3. "Resolution endorsed by Congress"

And also, I think Iran is able to do whatever they want within the Persian Gulf in order to maintain national security since the US has been maintaining national security by killing fishermen and hijacking ships a thousand miles from the US.

Iran captures two vessels in Strait of Hormuz after ship comes under fire

Iran has captured two foreign commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and moved them to its coast, in a further escalation that comes hours after United States President Donald Trump said he would extend a ceasefire with Tehran.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the vessels had violated maritime regulations and entered the strategic waterway without coordination, according to Iranian state media.

The capture follows Wednesday’s incident, in which an Iranian gunboat fired on a container vessel near Oman, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre.

The British maritime monitoring agency said the ship’s captain reported that the ship had been approached by an IRGC vessel before shots were fired.

“[It] has caused heavy damage to the bridge. No fires or environmental impact reported,” UKMTO added. No casualties were reported, and all crew members were said to be safe.

Al Jazeera’s Tohid Asadi, reporting from Tehran, said, “This is in line with what we heard from the IRGC previously, saying that any passage of ships, vessels or oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz should be with the permission and coordination of the IRGC.”

He said the capture reflected Iran’s continuing strategy to impose control and authority over maritime traffic through the chokepoint, adding that Iranian officials were now discussing charges and transit fees for vessels using the route.

British maritime security firm Vanguard Tech said the container vessel that came under fire was sailing under a Liberian flag and had been informed it had permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian news agency Tasnim, however, said the vessel had ignored warnings issued by Iran’s forces.

Blockade is an act of war.

President Kennedy used the term "quarantine" instead of "blockade" during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis to avoid acting in a way that legally constituted an act of war under international law. A "blockade" is a formal act of war, whereas "quarantine" was a milder, flexible term for a "defensive" action that allowed for potential diplomatic resolutions

A reminder that Obama negotiated a perfectly good deal that blocked Iran's ability to enrich uranium to weapons grade. With inspections and everything. And that the Strait of Hormuz was free to all shipping two months ago.

This has to to be the stupidest war the US has ever chosen.

More lies from Trump:
“Donald Trump is “satisfied” with the naval blockade, and “understands Iran is in a very weak position” – according to the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt.”

However, Iran has now closed the strait of Hormuz and won’t entertain peace talks until USA stops the blockade. We are stuck unless we remove the blockade. The closure is causing an energy crisis globally, this isn’t just about us.
