| It doesn't seem like you can leave comments on the scenario this time. |
They created one new split feeder. But they got rid of five. |
| It looks like they got a lot of negative feedback in the Westfield/Brookfield split area for the last scenarios, they are just choosing to ignore it. |
Yes, that whole area is just red for both scenarios. |
| Wow you can really see how RIO just flooded the comments on the map. Probably the same people posting over and over again. |
It won't let in AP transfers. I didn't say anything about Pathways, you did. |
RIO had it before. |
|
I will give credit where credit is due.
They fixed split feeder problems at: Cub Run Oak Hill ES Coates Floris Carson MS (used to be three way) Franklin MS used to be three way split and will be only two way. |
| Bull Run really jumps out as the one they didn't fix with a very obvious solution. |
Isn't Franklin going to get renovated in a few years? Will that add capacity? |
I think so. Not sure about Stone (nothing is set in stone...sorry) |
“Think” whatever you want but the fact is that there are 158 bright kids who transfer to South lakes even though they are in the HHS catchment area. Would infuriate a lot of folks to make boundary changes based on low enrollment when there is an existing open sieve at HHS. |
I will say that these consultants run circles around Thru Consulting, but in some instances it looks like they got a heavy steer. I've followed some of the boundary changes in MCPS and they are very transparent about the impact on FARMS rates and other demographics. FCPS and these consultants purport to ignore that completely, but then we can tell that, behind the scenes, poorer communities are treated as the low-hanging fruit to be reassigned to Westfield. It's all a little bit hypocritical. |
I don't think they'll make boundary changes based on low enrollment. They may make changes based on overcrowding and look to see where there is capacity. |
I don't know what you're trying to say. Are you saying that if Skyview has 200 seats available for pupil placements, students wanting to transfer for the Pathways programs will receive priority over those seeking to transfer for AP? |
