McLean leaving FVU

I mean, who could forget all the amazing clubs he coached as TD before landing in Mclean? It's truly impressive how he managed to climb the ranks with zero background in youth development, aside from cashing in paychecks for flashing a smile and keeping Waxler content. Mclean is for rich and famous. Soon there will be a show the soccer moms of Mclean directed by waxler and Harkes.

Umm Greenville did pretty well while he was coaching. admittedly not youth development but why so bitter?

They are out already on the website, unless you mean the U-littles.

I do mean uLittles. Who are the coaches?

TBD. They are probably still interviewing prospects to fill empty coaching slate.

I rarely hear anything bad of the coaches. They are not the most well known around but do compete with bigger clubs.

How will McLean be better off? Harkes hasn’t even finished a full year and they went from national powerhouse with multiple players excelling at a pro level to an absolute joke. They traded the girls history for a second division on the boys side.
And player retention has improved? They lost almost all their players for both the boys and girls at 2013.

And the same will happen with the 2014's next year. FVU made sure that they got DB and CW to lure away 2013's this year and 2014's next year to FVU. After 2014s MYS is very weak. This is the beginning of the end for MYS girls youth program.

FVU is a a mid club (say Brave 2.0). Except 2010 girls, the rest is at the lower end of ECNL with the Wilmington, NC fusion and co. Therefore Playoff spot is not in the deal package. CW is past his prime and is looking to retire and DB is an interesting coach who got recently fired with a D license and has a suspicious history of picking the right players based on merit. Good luck getting anywhere with FVU.

hello possible GA hat parent from nva or mys. Everyone is sorry for your dd and her current situation of living with grumpy parents. As far as DB, supposedly once NVA officially announced their grand ideas he bounced. Cant work for the competition and be a company man. Thats a conflict of interest so the club had to part ways w the coach who already broke up w the club.

Classic breakup after being dumped situation. Now as far as next year that club picked up talent from other clubs so they have a good opportunity to get over the hump.

All the teams will be hitting a reset button.. time and coaching will tell how it all plays out

07s are in second. That’s the lower end of ECNL?

12s and 09s also have winning records and are in the top half of the league. 11s are 7th out of 12, so just missed the top half.

Did you literally just make your post up?

What's up with the rumored parent revolt at FVU, is it about one team or are multiple group of parents in revolt? What are they upset about exactly?

This is a rumor I heard so could be nothing to it, but why not ask here.

12s are underperforming and sliding backwards now that they are playing tougher teams the back half of the season. They are 5th to VDAs 7th, and are benefitting in the rankings from the luck that is the NVA downfall and some bad calls in a recent game that gave them a tie where it should have been a loss. I feel bad for the girls, as they have some talent, but they clearly lack coaching, can’t move the ball well, and their defense is weak. You can beat lesser teams with kick and run, but the tougher teams reveal the gaps. It only gets tougher as they get older.

It’s true there is a revolt at Fairfax Union. I heard that half the teams will try to secede and form Fairfax Confederacy.

Well done LMAO!

They already wear grey so will the confederacy wear Union blue now

What’s VDA and NVA have to do with a lack of coaching for FVU?

Not sure what’s hard, but let me break it down: This was a response to an earlier comment that discussed rankings. Rankings are based on the performance of a team as compared to other teams. And the lack of performance directly relates to coaching.

I disagree. Coaching is happening with FVU 2012.

Kick it as far as possible every time you get it. That’s coaching, right?

The rumor that has players following NM to Bethesda would be devastating to ECNL VA
