Biden's VP?

If Biden's preferred pick turns out to be white, he could offer a list of black women from which he'd select AG or the next SCOTUS candidate. Those two positions would have more influence on racial matters than a VP.

You mean the Federalist list? Yes, he did.

Who funds the Federalist?

Yes, if he picks a white VP I think he'll basically have to present his cabinet wish list as well, which could well include Harris for AG, Rice for Sec of State, and possibly Lance Bottoms and Abrams in other positions. He'll have to reiterate his commitment to an AA woman Supreme Court justice nominee as well. I'm confident his cabinet will be powerful and diverse, even if he decides to go with Warren or Whitmer for VP. In short, black women will make strides in his administration, even if not as VP this time. But we'll see, too soon to tell. Even though I've been a long-time Warren supporter, I keep coming back to Whitmer as someone who is just plain likable and seems to be a talented retail politician with good crossover appeal. I'll wait to see what the next two months hold.

Harris turned down AG under Obama...why do you think she would want it now. Unless she is VP, I would assume perhaps SCOTUS.

Warren won't leave the senate as her replacement would be chosen by a GOP governor.

From a May 11 NYT article on Harris:
"Among Ms. Harris’s backers, because there is no uniform effort to pitch her to Mr. Biden, there is also no consensus opinion that being the running mate is the role she most desires. After three years in the Senate, Ms. Harris has been frustrated by the bureaucracy of Washington, and has mused to allies about missing the control afforded to her in executive positions such as attorney general of California and as district attorney of San Francisco.

In one conversation, with a political figure who requested anonymity to discuss a candid conversation, Ms. Harris said she would consider the role of attorney general in Mr. Biden’s administration if she was not selected as vice president."

No. Klobuchar is the sensible choice. From there, fill key roles/cabinet with equally strong picks and experience in specialized roles.

Please envision the VP as president. This is not a far fetched scenario. Who would you choose? Put identity politics away. No one disputes filling the jar with skittles of every color and orientation. Taste the rainbow. We have a country to fix.

No, won't happen. While I think a white VP pick is possible, I don't think one will be picked who would likely alienate Black voters.

That's cutting off the nose to spite the face. Yes, I can understand black voters who feel aggrieved that they didn't get a POTUS candidate of color. I can understand being insulted that the VPOTUS candidate is not a POC. But really, to even consider not voting for Biden and any candidate of his choice when the alternative is four more years of Trump, Pence is just really being childish against your best interests.

Trump and Pence have rallied the white supremacists and gun backers and have emcouraged racism and bigotry. Trump is the candidate has excused so much racial tension and bigotry and has encouraged many like the three who hunted down Ahmoud Arbery to come out of the shadows and to be blatently racist. He has made it acceptable to be a white supremacist and to actually come out and stop holding back on hiding their feelings and their violent tendancies.

I am incredulous that any minority American would think that it is acceptable to either vote for Trump or even to abstain. All minorities are endangered by his presence in the White House. Once he is voted out of the White House, you can go back to standards and issues but this year's agenda absolutely must be to ensure that Trump is a one term president.

She would be replaced by a republican and we need every debate seat possible. And again too old!

Where do you get this from? No way...grumpy old men? LOL

This is the kind of thing Cons post to try to divide Dems.

No, I really don't think anyone could ever think this is credible.
No one wants this, including Sanders and Biden.

Excuse me, but this moment in time it would be irresponsible to pick someone other than an African American. And since he promised a female VP, the list is rather short.

There are a couple of African American women I could envision as President in the next four years, should the need arise.

There are couple of gerbils I could envision being a better president than Donald Trump.

ANYONE else works for me.

I used to be on the Amy train, but at this juncture, no way.

No to Harris (adds nothing that others don’t, was horrible to Biden and California is not needed).

No to Warren (NE Harvard elite, the left is not voting for Trump and lose a senate seat).

No to Klobuchar (Minnesota a disaster, didn’t show leadership and doesn’t excite new voters or the younger crowd).
