Things are so volatile, a lot could change in 2 months. I would say Demings is on an upswing now, but they're all making television appearances during vetting and doing well. I'm sure the Biden campaign is watching closely.

This is a really good review of Bottoms and Demings and their credentials. Both look to be good options, although I worry that despite the local NAACP president's comments about her time as Orlando police chief, that outside of Florida, it's not going to be heard and the fact that she was the police chief during a very questionable period of excessive police violence that many voters will not be able to get past that.

It's a good read.

As long as she speaks about it reasonably and directly, without avoiding it or getting defensive the way Harris does, she'll probably be okay. Her law enforcement background will be the most appealing thing about her to white midwestern voters, which is a consideration.

Interesting the article focuses heavily on Bottoms' early and unwavering loyalty to Biden. That matters to Joe. I do think he's more likely to pick either of these two than Harris, for a number of reasons. But she'll have AG if she wants it. I prefer Demings right now but don't know much about Bottoms other than her great speech.

Yeah, but he said he would cure cancer also. Whatever.

Oh FFS.

I'd list all the promises DJT made and broke, but the internet is only so big.

I do think it's interesting that Bottoms got in the mix so quickly, and do think loyalty is a big factor. I also like Val Demings. She has a very calm, clear, and confident communication style that's very appealing.
