Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Exactly. This all stinks to high heaven. The behavior of FCPS staff is unprofessional and an embarrassment.

Come on, this is absolutely not true. There is no way the VHSL would announce matchup changes the day teams are expected to play. Pushing the games to Saturday would cause so many problems statewide. Teams would not be able to watch film and practice for their opponents. That Twitter account looks like a hayfield hype account. As other PPs said, no other reputable source has said anything. The ramifications on other teams to change things now would be enormous and grossly unfair. It’s too late to change anything. These are just dumb rumors

Yeah and get more of a hardcore white supremacist in there.

Two social media sources that local coaches, athletes, teams, etc follow have posted about the injunction so I’m not convinced like others are that it’s fake news. I’ll take a wait and see approach and more news will likely come out soon. That said, these developments are unprecedented in the history of prep sports in Northern Va.

If Hayfield’s back in, I don’t think Lake Braddock has been studying Hayfield film, so they would not be ready to play them this weekend. I wonder if playoffs would have to be postponed a full week.

Came here to say this. There are 6 sealed injunctions with no party and a couple under the board of supervisors. But my money is on rumor at this point because it's so shoot-yourself-in-the-foot.

I’m hoping a reliable source that covers prep sports like Fox 5’s Chad Ricardo or the Post’s Michael Errigo will dig into this today.

I am assuming this is a last minute 'hail mary' based upon someone seeing this in West Virginia...

Basically, wow, another state postponed their HS football playoffs, maybe it will work here in Virginia. Just embarrassing that FCPS is following the lead on West Virginia in the educational system practices.

I heard about this on Sunday! The fill-in ump at our softball game was from WV and was talking to some of the parents on our team about football scandals in our respective states. Conversation started with people wanting to recruit stand-out softball players to their high schools .

They can study all the film they want. They aren’t beating Hayfield.

Lake Braddock wouldn’t be playing Hayfield first round anyway. If Hayfield is in, they have to get the number 1 seed in the region.

VHSL doesn’t have to kick anyone out. They can just give Hayfield a bye and create a play in game.

Hilarious that you think that would ever happen.

Hayfield cheaters gambled and lost.

I had thought it was all over after last VHSL appeal, but with right now every football division in West VA being held up by injunctions and lawsuits- their state playoffs postponed- clearly anything possible.

Do you think lawsuits like this will happen more now that college players can receive money? Will we start to see as much play in courtrooms as on fields? Is this why people care?

Lawsuits require two things- money and cognizable claim. I'd be curious to see where hayfield is getting the money. If it's FCPS, a line from Reid to the attorney's arguing the case needs to be drawn and everyone oking along the way needs to be fired
