Where do you think the plane is? |
I am the second poster quoted in 20:55. I have no idea, really.
I've been reading the coverage pretty regularly since it happened. I do not think it was accidental, nor equipment- related. Too many circumstances point otherwise- the separate shutdown of communications, the planes disappearance right at the border with Vietnam, the new route being programmed in, the plane flying for hours. I think it was intentional, whether by a pilot or hijackers, not sure. Just my opinion. |
ABC seems to be the only news source claiming the search area has been significantly narrowed.
Do you think it is possible that we will never know what happened? Do you think there is any chance the passengers are alive? I cannot stop thinking about the families of people on the plane. I really hope the powers that be have located the aircraft and will be sharing info in the next day or 2. I need my life back! |
The report of the narrowed search area has been on CNN all day long. |
I don't think you are a moron. I think you raise a good point. People think that ATC is omniscient or something. I definitely think that a commercial airliner could come through in a crowd, imitating a typical signal. |
LOL |
NP, also obsessed with this story.
Here's one question I have. So we know the new flight plan (turning left, over the Malay peninsula) was programmed into the computer, 12 minutes before they said "good night." Do they only know part of that flight path? It seems like if a new route were programmed in, we should know where it ended, right? This confuses me. Anyone have any insight? |
With all the countries pulling out of the search, of course the area being searched would shrink. |
You seem well informed, where do you think the plane is? You said you think it is on the ground and the US and other countries are giving false info so they do not to tip off the hijackers. That will be really tough on the families, crushing their hopes, like that. Which country do you think the plane is in? |
You know what I'm sick of? All the dam news stories that summarize "what we know so far." I'm fuckin obsessed with this case. I know what we know so far. I have researched not only every dam major US newspaper, but newspapers around the world. Tell me something new!
Gotta laugh at CNN calling "The Science Guy" for his input. Desperate much? |
Glad the Soviets never thought about doing that, could you image what they could have done with 10 planes sneaking in to the country with multiple nuclear weapons or bio weapons? Scary! I guess there is just no defense against that type of attack. |
What else can they say to cover the other 23 & 1/2 hours of constant coverage? It's like watching a slowly dripping tap. Part of me thinks we're all going to be really bummed when we find out it was something mechanical/electrical with the plane. Then it means we really do need to worry (well, I'm a frequent flyer on those planes, so that's what would make me worry the most). |
Yeah I was at the gym and saw them interviewing Bill Nye The Science Guy about this story. Come on. At least try and be a a decent news organization. Nothing against him, I think he's great and funny, but he can add NOTHING that they don't already know. I realize this is an important story but when there isn't any new news, they need to stop talking about it 24/7. They have nothing to say so they end up doing silly things. |
Are you really mocking the events of 9/11? |
? The soviets wouldn't want to sneak in ten weapons, because no matter how many weapons they snuck in, it would have ensured their destruction as well.
No matter how many US cities they blew up, we wouldn't lose our counter strike capabilities. Yeah, we're as stupid as Israel. Israel sucks so bad at assessing threats to their security (rolls eyes). |
