What's with all the positive Covid cases in staff at Williamsburg?

Most of the teachers I've spoken to are so happy to be back in class now that they have their vaccine. They hated virtual, and this is what they do best. Teach in person. They're ready for next fall, when concurrent education will be a thing of the past. Even these "outbreaks" statistically won't affect them.

As someone said above, SmartRestart peeps really do think they are experts at COVID. But even the study posted above they misinterpreted.

I don't trust them. It's almost like they want everyone to go back to virtual education for their own selfish reasons. No thank you.

Actually, a lot of parents in Smart Restart have kids in in-person school, with even more planning for in-person in the fall.

So I have one or the other group speaking for me now? The "middle ground" doesn't affiliate with either group, and doesn't know who or what they are, outside of yard signs.

Most parents don't even mess with AEM or your various webpages.

Why do you need a group? You can contact the principal and/or APS staff and/or school board directly.

I don't. It's just funny that these groups think they speak for the Arlington Parent community. On AEM, I see only maybe 30 people incessantly engaging on back to school issues. It's all the same names. All extreme. Most people are just happy schools are open, and would probably be happier if we could find a way to go full-time before the fall, but aren't sweating it.

Yes, they are mostly just talking to themselves.

Some of them will talk to staff/school board, but they are speaking for themselves/their group, not all parents. Any parent can do the same if they feel strongly.

Agree - most parents would prefer to have more days, but aren't sweating it at this point.

Seems like the APE dude doesn't know he's posting on AEM.

No. He clearly meant to post in AEM given the links to that insane Twitter account in another AEM thread.

NP but I think they meant what's the point of appealing to people on AEM to care about their fellow community member. AEM is not exactly a hotbed of caring. Neither is this site.

I don't think so....

First comment:
"Thank you, XX. For creating this group, and for reminding us of the reasons behind it."

What community member? His post out of context makes no sense.

Some APEs are upset because some of their posts on the APE FB page were posted on Twitter. Then re-posted as part of a question on AEM on whether Miranda Turner supported APE's efforts to recall SB members. That's what some of the APE FB posts were about.

You should check out who follows that Twitter Account. Seems like some rogue teachers enjoy parent screenshot drama.

And just in case they unfollow, what say you APS Hear Our Voice?

This is petty local politics at its finest. Creating an anonymous Twitter account solely to criticize a parent Facebook group created solely to criticize the school board decisions. Never change, Arlington.
