11 justifiable acts still leaves you outside looking in. Commit.

You are thinking too narrowly. You can also eliminate current/returning students as well. Why limit your murderous rampage to just those in the lottery queue?

This isn’t funny given the current climate with school shootings

Jesus Christ. Current climate? Current since when? Let’s not act like there’s anything new going on in America right now.

Both kids got in at JOW for K and PreK. What’s the thoughts? Should we attend or stay at Stokes East End? Thanks for any replies

Yes, current climate. Kindergarteners at YuYing had to do active shooter drills. This is current, real, and not funny.

In at Thomson for Kindergarten waitlisted at a few but the only "lowish" ones are #30 for Van Ness and #25 for Tyler - English dominant. Any opinions on chances?

#24 waitlist at Washington Latin (our first pick)
Latin seems like a better fit but wondering how likely we are to get in with that number. Thoughts?
Take the bird in the hand?

Our rising 5th grader had very similar results (slightly better Latin waitlist number). My thought is to enroll in Basis for now. Basis would be an easier commute for us coming from the Hill.

You have a chance of getting into Latin with that number.

No you don't. We had a lower number last year - it only went higher.

What was your original #? Curious because it looks like made 24 offers by August.

Back again. We were 22. But what happens is that siblings of other waitlisters jump ahead.

1 Maury Elementary School Waitlisted - #20
2 School-Within-School Waitlisted - #25
3 Capitol Hill Montessori Match (enrollment pending)

Currently at Two Rivers Young -- HELP don't know what to do, I don't know anything about Cap Hill Montessori. Going to 4th-grade High achieving kid, late Oct birthday so he's usually the oldest in class.

Why are you trying to leave TRY? For CHML I would not make the trade.

Honestly not happy with TR approach to high learners, my experience has been that they are not investing in supporting students that are above grade level.

Thank you! We are in the mid-teens (not the first PP) so we will keep our fingers crossed.

If that is your concern I would not switch. That’s exactly what CHML parents say after 3rd grade or so. I would only switch if you are committed to Montessori, which sounds like you are not at all.
