Agreed. He knows how to win the big game. |

[code]It’s seems to me that GP has been underperforming under the current head coach.
Am I wrong? I would like to hear opinions as both schools are on my sons radar.

Many applicants that play lacrosse will apply to at least 3 of these schools (Bullis/Prep/St John's/Landon/Gonzaga) and yes many current Prep players also applied to Bullis. So I don't think this is a troll. |

Bellistri is a very good coach - he may be a better recruiter. It doesn't hurt that Bullis, as a school, has been throwing a lot of money around at athletics. They can also tout the fact students will not have to work as hard academically at Bullis, as at "Zaga, Prep, and Landon (St. Johns is likely the same academically) and there are girls, not the case at 'Zaga, Prep, or Landon. We will all have to see where the new Headmaster takes them after Boarman has left the school disgraced - like our dear leader Trump.
Often Bullis has swung wildly in its emphasis on athletics - High Emphasis with Jung, De-Empahsis with Farquhar, Out of Bounds Emphasis with Boorman, Where will Headmaster Sullivan go? Bullis has been better lately because they have had very talented players. Success is always a combination. Great players - questionable coaching - average results in the Win/Loss Column = Prep lately, though I hear Coach U is a great person - and that counts. Great Coach, OK players, average results in the Win-Loss Column, but maybe you have great character development. Great Players and Great Coaching-great results all around. The Landon coach and coaching staff is equal to or better than any other coach and staff in the area. Since 2018 Landon has had the coaches, but not the athletes. In the last played season, a year of total rebuild, they lost to Bullis by a goal and then in Overtime and Prep once in overtime. This year they have players and coaching and the cupboard is getting filled. This staff will coach this season, and then we will see which direction they go. St. Stephens is always very well coached - fewer athletes and they always play really hard. St. Alban's has gotten better, but is still wildly outgunned in the athlete Dept. Episcopal could be a sleeping giant if they really decide they want to compete - Bring on the Canadians. |
| great post with some good insight. |
2018 Bullis team was very talented, but they were also really well coached and disciplined. They are doing really good things over there, particularly after the turmoil with him maybe being fired or whatever that was. It will be interesting to see if the talent pipeline dries up. Coach U inherited a team in transition that had a lot of turnover, I think he'll settle in now that he's been at the helm for several years - and Prep seems to be getting the Mater Dei pipeline shifted back from Eye St. I agree that the underwhelming Landon squad had to be really well coached to compete with either Bullis or Prep that season; that Landon team looked brutal early season but kept getting better. It's still baffling to me that there HC/alum is leaving. SSSA has maintained the disciplined approach they've been known for even with their coaching change a few years ago. Wonder if the one poster who said their admin doesn't support the program is in the know or just disgruntled. EHS has some great talent but hasn't been able to get over the hump and get some big wins. If the school really wants to be good, recruiting and boarding are powerful tools. StA needs to prove a lot before anyone thinks they'll be a regular presence in the league. Hopefully we get a season this spring, even if abridged or modified, there are some great 21s in the IAC that I would like to see play. Fingers crossed. |
| Well said! |
PP on SSSA if they are so good, without naming names, why do they keep losing their best kids to other area and national lax powers? If they would have kept all the good players that were there in middle school and left for greener pastures at Culver, Bullis, Prep, Landon and Gonzaga, they'd be a national powerhouse. So something is definitely up that is getting the good players out of there. |

What is going on at Georgetown Prep?
I heard their Head Priest announces there would be no athletic competition this year and a few families are looking to transfer out or have already left? Any truth to this ——— my son had mentioned this to me |
|
Heard that too. Some well heeled folks have already sent their kids to boarding schools out of state and IMG has picked up a few of the best players for the spring season. No telling how long they leave for. Preps program just continues to unravel.
Look for STJ to really capitalize on the attrition. Gonzaga will as well. Too bad for the little Hoyas. |
If that's true, that could very well be a league wide decision. In which case, the pitchforks and torches are gonna be out at a bunch of IAC schools. Maybe the Landon HC had insight into this early and decided to GTFO of a soft conference? |
ZERO percent chance that SJ picks up any transfers for boys lacrosse. Long standing decision by the St. John’s administration that boys lacrosse will not be like the sh!t show SJC football program. |
If there is no IAC season, SJC could conceivably pickup local full pay student athletes from the IAC schools. That's a dramatic difference form the renegade national recruiting/hosting/shenanigans of their football program. Everyone will be looking to fill seats after this disrupted year, why not do so with kids who will help your teams? |

In order to be eligible for spring sports you must be enrolled by the start of the spring semester.
Any IAC kids looking to transfer to the WCAC are out of time. |
