Well Since MCPS Just Provided 45 day Notice - We’re Going Back

To our HOS - thanks for an expensive 8 weeks of DL. You should have just opened like you SAID you would so your school would have at least been a better option than the publics.

So...you've already paid for the entire year of private school by this point - why bother switching to public now?

You are obviously a troll who doesn't know how private school works. (And yes, I know you can make monthly tuition payments, but even if you haven't made October's and so on, you're still on the hook for them per the contract you signed).

One recently posted about a second grader who is learning nothing...complaining it is stuff he learned in kindergarten. My son was reading in K. I will bet there are plenty of elementary school students at a standstill because of DL.

Another bit of intel I got lately is I rant into my neighbor who is a 4th grade teacher. She said there are kids in her class who are pre-readers. Imagine your advanced kid in a class with pre-readers. What a mess.

So you referenced one person bad experience and ignored all those who are happy with MCPS DL and called DL a joke?
What are you doing that's different from the OP?
I have seen many posts where people are not happy with privates DL, even in this thread. Should I called them a joke?

You can do whatever you like. I am just saying that in general, private school DL is far superior to public school DL.

You can believe that if that will make you sleep better, since you're paying for DL.

I sincerely doubt the HOS begged you to stay. If they did, it's the kind of private school you should have never enrolled your child in to begin with.

Well it’s one of the ones people on here talk about A LOT.

I bet it is - just not favorably. Look, none of the really good private schools were pulling kids in at the last minute at the end of summer - they were full from their last admissions cycle. So again, if the HOS is begging you to stay at their school, it's not a great school to begin with.

Uh, many privates are open or bring students on campus for limited activities.

Agreed, our private is open. Why do you think DCPS can do things privates can't?

Well that is where you are wrong, AGAIN. I am doing in-person with option for DL. OP, you go ahead back to your MCPS DL. It will stay that way for the foreseeable future. The union is not going to allow teachers to return to classrooms with all students until significant upgrades made to the buildings' HVAC systems. This is going to be a major budgetary issue. I don't see kids returning to the classroom until next September at the earliest.

And then after that is done it will be something else and then something else. We all know how public unions work once they are gone for 200+ days.

Well it’s one of the ones people on here talk about A LOT.

This person is a fake.

The “monthly payment plan” was the first tip. The constant reference to “privates” was another. The “it’s one they talk about on here.A lot[]” was the other. Just an angry person venting while making up things. Sad.

Are you serious? You've never heard of paying tuition in installments? You're a joke. You're mad that the veil has been pulled off of the private school scam - they aren't places where you get a better education - they are places where rich snobs hide from poor people and receive an average at best education with smaller classes so your kids *feel* smart because the teacher is forced to listen to your dumb awkward kids drone on and on. Public school kids are smarter, adjust better to different environments and are better socially adjusted. Now that I've seen the inside, I'll never think otherwise. The secret's out!

NP. You are truly unhinged.

Anonymous wrote:No, it is not. You must be zoned for a really bad public school. We left public in a ‘W‘ zone for private this year and the DL is about equal. I will say that the public school kids seem smarter and quicker than the private school kids in my DC’s class. Although the private school classes are smaller, sometimes it just means that kids who aren’t terribly smart are able to participate in discussions more and talk for longer periods of time Without anyone to tell them to be quiet. This is nota good thing. Also our public school PTA was far more active, helpful and busy than the prI ate school we are in. We will finish out this year but plan on returning to MCPS once everything is back to normal. That said, if you are zoned for ‘W’ schools, really think hard about going private - the advantages are really dependent upon what school you are zoned for.

The advantages also depend a lot on which private school you're at. Not all privates are created equal, which is why when people like OP who are at some lower-tier private school that was accepting kids up until the last day of summer act like they know what all private schools have to offer it's a total joke.
