I guess the OP hasn't been on the MCPS thread lately. DL classes are still a joke and taught to the lowest common denominator. One recently posted about a second grader who is learning nothing...complaining it is stuff he learned in kindergarten. My son was reading in K. I will bet there are plenty of elementary school students at a standstill because of DL. Another bit of intel I got lately is I rant into my neighbor who is a 4th grade teacher. She said there are kids in her class who are pre-readers. Imagine your advanced kid in a class with pre-readers. What a mess.
So you referenced one person bad experience and ignored all those who are happy with MCPS DL and called DL a joke? What are you doing that's different from the OP? I have seen many posts where people are not happy with privates DL, even in this thread. Should I called them a joke?
You can do whatever you like. I am just saying that in general, private school DL is far superior to public school DL.
You can believe that if that will make you sleep better, since you're paying for DL.
Well that is where you are wrong, AGAIN. I am doing in-person with option for DL. OP, you go ahead back to your MCPS DL. It will stay that way for the foreseeable future. The union is not going to allow teachers to return to classrooms with all students until significant upgrades made to the buildings' HVAC systems. This is going to be a major budgetary issue. I don't see kids returning to the classroom until next September at the earliest.
