What a fantastic season for the 28s. It looks like they surprised a lot of people. NL 27s and 29s unfortunately did not win today, but also had great seasons. NL seems to be building something special. Next season is going to be very important in taking the next steps towards becoming, hopefully, an elite club. |
i watched alot of the 27 championship game and came away impressed. To hang with a team that could probably beat 40% of the A teams was impressive for a young team. In fact, if NL would have chosen to play a narrower rotation, it probably would have been an even closer game. Really impressed by two of their starting middies. Club may have a challenge convining them to stay; they can both clearly play at the highest levels of MD youth lacrosse. |
I think NL coaches did a great job this year balancing needs, considering the context of forming teams without tryouts. |
Agreed. What tourneys is NL playing this summer? They don't list schedule on website. |
You think CCLax could beat 4-5 of the A teams at the 2027 level? Based on what? I’ll give you CCLax should play in A next year. Young team? Are there 28s playing on the 27 NL team? |
| When are the NL tryouts? I don't see them posted on the website |

Could someone speak to whether the NL player lacrosse IQ is high? My mom friends with older daughters have said the coaching wasn't great (young teams had athletic girls but weren’t playing good lacrosse/lots of middies gunning instead of passing etc). Looking for a program for my daughter and frankly all the programs seem so inconsistent year to year- and maybe these friends with older girls have outdated info?. And I am not a lax player so hard for me to tell.
But would love to have her play NL bc so convenient. |
| I will say to the PP if you are judging the 2027 girls by their game on Sunday then that would seem right but they didn't play their normal game -- they are usually much better at passing etc... |
CCLax assessment based on fall performed. They could easily beat FCA, Skywalkers, Heros White and Integrity. Probably same level as pride |
Agree on this. CCLax was the best team (as it showed) in the 27 B division. They would easily beat those teams mentioned. |
What team specifically are you referring to?
|
No 28s play on the 27 team but I heard some have played up for tournaments.
|
Pride Red beat CCLax 13-2 in Fall 2019. Beating up on bad B teams does not mean you can beat middle of the pack A teams. There is a huge divide. Skywalkers would likely lose to CCLax, I'll give them that. That's about it. Integrity, Hero's White would win by 5-6 goals. |
You going to ignore that NL 27, which was winning 4-2 at half to CCLax, lost to Hero's White 15-3!!! in November? Heck, NL27 lost to MD United **28*** about 9 weeks ago and lost to Heros Green **28** 13-6 in the Fall. B league is a different world. Can there be a few NL and CCLax girls who can make an A team? Of course? Can they beat them? Maybe 1 out of the 12. |
