| I thought the finale was good. Except for the hanging thread of Izzy. |
In the book she doesn’t know where she ends up and basically spends the rest of her life wondering where she went. |
In the movie despite some angst hard to believe she'd never see her dad and siblings again. Was their relationship colder in the book? |
That ending could have easily been worked into the show. |
The book has an entire chapter (more?) dedicated to how DIFFICULT Izzy was as a baby and how Elena never bonded with her, and basically resents Izzy her entire life. Elena pits the siblings against each other. All I remember is crying when it read the Elena spends her life checking each street corner when she passes, hoping for a glimpse of Izzy someday... |
I agree that the idea of all siblings contributing to the fire was unrealistic. |
How is this possible. He looks exactly the same. |
But then why was there that scene after book club with Mia and Elena sitting on the couch...Pretty much the only moment things are pleasant between Mia and Elena... Elena saying how much she loves her child, like devouring an apple or whatever. She's talking about how difficult things are with her, because she loves her so much. |
Totally agree |
Totally disagree. Bill was a crappy father and crappy husband. Never once stood up for Izzy, just told her to keep her head down and take the abuse. Had no idea what was going on with his other kids. Went on a joy ride smoking weed while his wife had a mental breakdown and left the kids to deal with it. Never helped her with the kids when they were younger. No respect for him. |
For real and this entire show I’ve been shouting “come on pacey!” |
That was for the show. Im talking about the book. |
Weed? Looked like a good ol Marlboro to me. |
Yea, unless it’s a blunt, you don’t hold joints like a cig, they don’t stay together. Plus there was a filter. What weed were you smoking in ‘97 that had a filter? |
You voiced all my irritation and then some. The lawyer husband would NEVER have let Elena confess. Oh well. At least I was a little surprised at the ending, and who set the fires. |
