Hi! I don’t usually care for movies and TV shows to be made into books...but I LOVED this book so much and am for some reason excited to see it on TV.

I listened to the book and it was so gripping for me: I cried and tensed up, it was so engaging. The baby and the ending...gah. I still don’t know who’s right.

I hope the cast can pull it off. I hope Kerry Washington doesn’t scrunch her nose the whole show.

Ha, knew this was coming. No, I didn’t picture her black. Because the way her story goes: meeting a couple in New York, she looked like his wife...wasn’t this all in the 80s? I mean it’s possible it was a black couple...?

Really enjoyed episode one although Reese's character is almost exactly like the one she plays on Big Little Lies. I didn't think Kerry Washington's character was as cold and rude to Elena in the book as it's being played, she was more standoffish and cautious to Kerry's biotchy. The actress who plays Pearl is absolutely perfect as is Izzy.

There wasn't a race angle to the story in the book, which was more about class/status, but I do think it can work here.

I think the adaptation of the book is quite well handled (and I loved the book).

Kerry Washington does match up pretty well with her character on the page: remote and alive really only for her art, and struggling when she needs to put her daughter first. But Washington's facial expressions in this role are soooo weird. The upper lip curling and teeth-baring when she's in distress make her look contemptuous, not sorrowing. It's odd as heck.

it is! like she hates Elana but in the book I didn't feel they were at such odds with each other.

I havent watched it yet. Kerry Washington’s face drives me CRAZY. Her scrunched nose in Scandal...ugh.

And without watching it I knew that Reese as Elena was the same as Madeline in BLL.

Not really, in LFE she is a perfectionist. In BLL she is far from perfect (affair, murder, daughter moved out)

I meant acting-wise.
