| Just came to see if anyone mentioned Joshua Jackson in tighty whities - don’t know how that turned me on but it did!! |
|
Kerry Washington is totally over acting and it’s driving me crazy.
Stop with the bitchy, sad, quivering lip nonsense. |
She’s ruining the show, and previously I was a fan. |

Liked it but I wish they would show more of Joshua Jackson. I loved him in The Affair. Also keep thinking he's too young to be a dad of teens, still remember him as a teenaged Pacey.
Kerry Washington seems miscast as Mia, she's playing her too robotic and cold. I don't remember the book Mia being so cold and distant. I was always a fan of Scandal and liked her in that. Pearl/Lexi Underwood is well cast and can act. Also, love that it's set in the 90's since I was a teenager of the 90's and could relate to the songs and being obsessed with 90210. However, I think Dawson's Creek was much more popular during 1997/1998 time frame. I was in high school then and remember everyone wanting Joey and Pacey to be together. The 90210 gang was well into their college years or early 20s during this time frame I think. |
| Is this show worth me signing up for Hulu? |
| I read the book, and I definitely did think Mia was black. |
Yes, I'd recommend it. There are also other Hulu shows worth watching: Veronica Mars, Handmaid's Tale, The Mindy Project, Harlots, etc... |
| Lisa bonet’s daughter would have been perfect for MIA. Or even Lisa bonet! They have a more crunchy, artsy vibe that the character in the book has. Washington gives a good performance, but she plays the character in such a harsh and cold way and that’s not aligned with the book. |
Agreed. |
You didn’t read it carefully then. |
I cannot stand the overacting. And her character comes off as totally unhinged. Not complicated. Not sympathetic. Just bonkers. |

I'll admit I was PISSED when I saw Kerry Washington was cast. Not because she was black, but because she's a horrible over-actor. Ugh.
(And to those who didnt read the book, the race issue was NOT a part of it AT ALL. This is for the show). |
| I liked the book and am watching the series, but am more hate watching it. |
