This Is Us, Season 4

Agree. I really like both of these characters. Great acting! I also really liked the tension between the two families and the fact that both families are black, so no one can claim, “that’s so racist!” when one family doesn’t like/trust the other.

Definitely a low blow and I don't blame Beth for almost coming to blows with this woman.

Loved this episode and thought it was brilliant that Malik’s parents had just as many misgivings about Deja as Randall and Beth had about Malik. Both sets of parents judged each other and their kids without knowing them.

I’ve been on both sides of that in teen relationships. Not with a baby or a former foster kid, but the suspicion and being suspected.

I call this episode "The Beth Show." Good job.

I thought it was the opposite-- that Chrissy said that Kate would consider a gastric bypass but she herself would never consider getting one.

Kate did consider a gastric bypass, right? But then Toby has the heart attack?

Beyond that I really liked how the shower the different tensions within the AA community. Not something you see a lot.

Yes, didn't she find out she was pregnant then?

Especially now that she has Jack, you would think that she would want to lose weight. I did like that Toby mentioned wanting to be there for Jack and not have another heart attack.
Yet no one in Kate's family feels they can say anything to her. Toby needs to man up and tell her to call Becks to watch the kid and he and Kate will go work out.

After tonight’s episode, it seems like “Becks” is in no condition to watch the child. This storyline is going to hit a little too close to home, I’m afraid.

On the other hand, I’m so happy to see that Michael Angarano is returning next week as young Nicky. Squee!

I find myself unusually attracted to Nicky (the older version). Don’t know what it is about him, but he’s very appealing to me.

Beth is so funny. Great comedic timing.

I knew Kevin and Cassidy weren’t going to be a thing - no romantic chemistry. I’m glad that story line is over.

Her lines the last two episodes slayed me, responding to Randall's befuddlement that she keeps wine in the pantry "I have three kids, of course I do." Last night - "going to the pantry for 30 seconds."

Beth is also really funny with Kevin, so next week is probably going to be treat.

I don’t know that Cassidy’s storyline is over. That phone call with Nicky clearly revealed that they have some sort of connection before and apart from Kevin, I think.

That storyline is definitely not over! Producers have hinted as such!

Oh bummer, I agree no chemistry. He really only had chemistry with Sophie.

I thought Randall's reaction to Rebecca misplacing her phone and her reaction to the missing phone was contrived as a way of bringing dementia into the story, (I know millenials who constantly break or lose their phones, doesn't mean alzheimers) but later it dawned on me, her insistence on taking notes for baby Jack's care and her focus on taking pics with the phone--in order to hide or work around memory loss? And perhaps Miguel knows and is keeping the secret for her?
