I just watched it a few minutes ago. It made me even more sad for him and his family--he wasn't dressed like he has a lot of money and now his family is stuck with unexpected end of life expenses. If she was videotaping her friend on a ride and happened to catch this on tape that one be one thing. She was intentionally anticipating this attack and videotaping and laughing about it. So, I think she was an idiot for uploading a video which actually proves that she was involved in a crime. I don't know that uploading the video in and of itself was a crime.

Certainly - turning over that video to the police would have been an appropriate thing for her to do. But...she needed the laughs so she posted it. It is what it is.

No, watching a crime is not the same as committing the crime. Maybe you think it should be, but it's not. No one is on death row for watching a murder. Plenty of people are on death row for being the one to commit the murder.
