Yes, but it gives anyone an idea of how games will turn out and the current skill level of the team. Debate all you want. There are rankings, like it or not, and at least they are better than GotSoccer. Get over it.

Not really discussing, just pointing out to the overly sensitive BRYC parent who seems to concerned with being left out of the list where they would be slotted in.

Does being a high ranked or top ranked team at this age translate to U13 or above? Probably not. Fields are bigger, players are better and faster......and there are more concentration of better players on each team.

In any case, I’m sure parents want their DC to be a good team now so that they train with better players. So it’s not just about bragging rights.

I see that they lost to Loudoun Red last weekend and also lost all 3 games at Jeff Cup this weekend. Loudoun won their first 2 before losing. Both teams in top bracket. Is there something going on with the Arlington team to explain these results? Was considering having DD tryout with Arlington 2008 this spring for next year because want her to play with high caliber team and everyone has been telling us they are considered the "team to beat" in the DMV. Loudoun is slightly closer. Anyone familiar with these 2 teams have any insight? Please only respond if you have actual information. Not interested in speculation. Any info on other 2008 teams that may be relevant welcome.

Has anyone heard whether there is a lot of outside interest in try-outs with Loudon and Arlington?

How close to try-outs do they usually post their coaching staffs for the next year?

If you come to Loudoun tryouts there will be around 100 girls for 08 trying out for travel teams. The coaches will introduce themselves to parents while your DD warms up. Same deal every year.

Which of these teams are CCL vs. CCL2? I'm guessing that "Northern Virginia SC CCL" and "Northern Virginia SC CCLII" are fairly obvious. But, what about the rest?

Arlington SA Red
LOUDOUN SOCCER 08G RED
Lee-Mount Vernon SC Patriots Red
Arlington SA White
Loudoun Black
Herndon Eclipse
Potomac SA Blue
ALEX 08 Girls Red
Lee-Mount Vernon SC Patriots White
Beach FC Norfolk Strikers Black
DC Stoddert Red Metros
SYA Cardinals 08G White
FC Richmond Metro
Ellicott City SC Black
Culpeper SC 08G
Fauqier County United Black

Have I missed any other 2008 Girls teams in CCL/CCL2?

Thanks in advance!

Just look at the CCL website standings. You can filter by age, gender and season. Premiership season is CCL and Championship season is CCL2.

Well it could concentrate and draw other good players to the team/club. So the team could stay top ranked but the players will change. I do not think a lot of parents think about that. So much changes at u13 including tops kids moving from small and medium clubs to the larger club or chasing DA or ECNL clubs. Those other clubs’ top players are good and could be better vs your kid. If a clubs has a highly ranked team it does increase interest and make it a desirable destination. I think that is happening at Arlington, but we will see at tryouts how much interest there is.

They don't show scores for the 08 girls which is why teams complain about not being ranked properly. As one poster put PWSI is ranked higher beating up NPL teams while some CCL teams are undefeated and are ranked lower because scores aren't published. You can expect a big change rumor is the whole LMVSC (who are actually really good) team is moving to SYC! Will that change SYC ranking?

Are the 08s playing as 07s?

Try here:

It should break it down.

Not a rumor seems like the whole team made it to try outs at SYC

The 2008 LMVSC girls team is moving to SYC?

All of McLean's 2nd teams are CCL2. At U11/12 it is the white team. AT U13 and up it is the green team because the top team is re-named the ECNL team

Seems like it since they were all at try outs.

Why go to SYC isn't that NPL?? At least at Lmvs you have CCL, dumb move to down grade.

I thought SYC was moving out of NPL and into something different?
