What makes them "legitimate?" no one has legitimized them. |
Burke and Best aren't rumors; they are news. BIG news. |
So what? That doesn't legitimize any of the made up crap posted in this thread. Stop blowing smoke. |
The implications are rumors based on the facts of the hires. |
Listen my under-medicated friend, there are multiple posters on this thread. It may be confusing for you, but don't lump us all together. Personally, I take each post on its own. Find whatever method you want, but chill out. |
The hires are real. The rumors are legitimate possibilities. None of the suggested outcomes would be a surprise at this point. |
A merger makes sense for FCV and Spirit. What FCV gets out of it is they get rid of a competing DA. They can offer their players opportunities and synergy with the Pro team. Spirit gets a turnkey established and quality DA club and player pool. Where it breaks down is the in regards to the money and the naming. FCV being no stranger to mergers and acquisitions, should not surprise anyone if such a merger were to happen. It would likely not last very long though and its sole intent would simply be to drive out a competing club. |
| What? That makes no sense. FCV does not need the Spirit or the Spirit players. That is like asking Barclays to buy Lehman Brothers as it was collapsing. Barclays waited and just picked up the assets it wanted once Lehman failed. FCV could do the same. Unless you are talking the WS pro team, it makes little sense for FCV to merge with WS VA. |
Did I say they needed Spirit players? No, I said they get to eliminate a competing DA. And, yes there are talented Spirit players that FCV would love to have if possible but no the players are not the motive. Access to a pro club and eliminating a competing team ARE the motivations. |

Stocks plummet and rise based on speculation and or rumors of uncertainty, mergers, etc. There is real value in letting your stock holders know the truth. The best thing a company can do is come out and quash the uncertainty. If not, headaces will ensue.

FCV has a very checkered past from a management perspective and who knows that best but Larry. Look at Loudoun for the latest reference. You have a very creative imagination. Donald, please send the federal employees back to work!! |
The response was directed at "what is possibly in it for FCV"? Not whether it is in fact going to happen or not. So, there are in fact some reasons that the two could merge or form a partnership of sorts. That does not mean it is going to happen. |
Why did it make sense 2 years ago? Are failing to realize that FCV and Spirit are for profit businesses? They are stand alone companies. They are not county run organizations. Decesions will be made in the best interest of the business owner (s)...not you. It doesnt need to make sense to you, me, he or she. |
| A part of me thinks Larry best is going to be more concerned with the 1st team and fixing a lot of things that have gone wrong at the spirit for years. The draft is coming fast as is pre season, if he is going to shut down spirit Va it won't happen until summer. |
Nobody believes that Spirit will not complete the spring season. It is when Spirit lets people know if the VA DA is dissolving or not that is the issue. If Larry can't make his decision until this summer then he sucks at his job already. |
