| No better way to discourage people from voting than to disregard the results. Why did I even bother to vote? If council and or mayor will just ignore the results, what is the point? Why not just follow the will of the people, see how it goes, and if it doesn’t work out, then try again with something else? |
| I’ll fully support the Council overturning the proposition if they also overturn the election victories of the winning Council Members and the Mayor. I can respect their opinion that the election was not valid, but not that only one item on the ballot was invalid. |
Why “hmmm”? |
| I voted no, but the silver lining with passage is that I wont have to figure out tips anymore. |
If 77 passed how we not know that will of the peoples to was elect Comrade Lazere? |
| Lack of due process. City-wide changes to law should not not be rung up on residents during a primary slot. Do it in November. |

As a result of similar wage restrictions, San Francisco restaurants are becoming self-serve with no waiters. The same will likely happen here.

Did you read the article you linked to? The article says it's mainly because of housing prices. |
| I heard one of the main sources of opposition to this measure is that it will allow employees to unionize. However I haven't really read much about that in any of the articles or commentary. |
| I hate tipping so I look forward to having restaurants add the service charge instead. |
Servers can fight together for better wages. No longer will they be blamed by restaurant owners for "not working hard enough" when a cheapskate refuses to tip. |
| the ballot wording was misleading. a lot of people don't understand that tips count towards minimum wage. I understand the frustration with overturning a vote (I would love a do-over with Briane getting reelcted too!), but in this case when the overwhelming majority of servers are opposed to this measure that is supposed to "help" them then you really do need reconsider what is at stake. |
They aren;t paid $3.33 hour, and this is what was misleading on on the ballot. Many make more than the $15/hour now with tips. If this passes, then most people will see no need to tip so their wage effectively drops for a lot of people. |
People voted for what they voted for. That's how it works. Are the councilmembers really saying, well, the voters didn't really understand what they voted for, plus they voted for me, so it's ok for me to overturn it? |
