WH correspondents dinner: Michelle wolf yay or nay?

Wolf unapologetically laid out the craziness. People are only upset because it's true and it can't be explained away.

Wolf showed the craziness of the rich white feminist circle jerk. People who are not a member of that circle felt embarrassed.

I thought the jokes were funny but completely inappropriate for the occasion. Ideally, at the WHCD one should not be able to tell whether the roasting comedian is a Democrat or Republican. This woman made no pretense at all of trying to hide her political stripes.

"He (Pence) thinks abortion is murder. Which first of all don't know it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You gotta get that baby out of there."

WTF???

Truly deranged, and only helping boost Trump.

Actually I don't even understand the joke.
Does she mean try murder? Or try abortion? And what does the "knock" aspect have to do with it?
And why was her voice some weirdly nasally and childish?

I think Trump is actually right about not attending. Is there really any reason for him too do so? Doe the President really need to be there and it's not really about him or for him, it's for the press so let them have their thing.

The room looks pretty packed. Where do all these journalists and press come from? I never see that many in the White House briefing meetings when they show pics and videos?

I say this as a moderate and a swing voter.

I did agree with this:
"You guys are obsessed with Trump. Did you used to date him? Because you pretend like you hate him, but I think you love him. I think what no one in this room wants to admit is that Trump has helped all of you. He couldn't sell steaks or vodka or water or college or ties or Eric, but he has helped you.
He's helped you sell your papers and your books and your TV. You helped create this monster, and now you're profiting off of him."

Liberals are *obsessed* with Trump; and that includes the media. Oh, and DCUM, of course.

True and the irony is, she could apply the same to herself. I and many others have never heard of this "comedian" nobody, and all of a sudden she's splashed all over the media, simply for spouting the same old sanctimonious, self-aggrandizing bullshit to a room of people who agrees with her.

The point seems to have whooshed over your head. Obviously the room didn't agree with her, that's why this post exists, why there are all the tweets and columns -- the room did not agree with her.

Try again.

Not the PP, but plenty of people in that room agreed with her. Shots of the audience showed many of them hysterically laughing.

What they did was the opposite of that. It only denigrates one of the few traditions in DC that promotes non partisanship. Now, why would a conservative ever attend? The only time it's going to be possibly funny and not just cruel is if the governing party is liberal.

This nails it.

Since when? Also, let's not pretend that anything is normal anymore, or that Donald Trump is just an ordinary Republican president. He's not. He's something entirely different, and will be treated accordingly. She didn't hold back when she was given the opportunity to speak. Good for her. Also, having watched it, I'm not sure where the outrage about SHS being attacked for her appearance is coming from? She called her a traitor to women and a liar. She attacked her character, which anyone associated with this administration, especially its propaganda arm, deserves. Same with Kellyanne and Ivanka.

They bring their celebrity "dates." Because, you know, the media and Hollywood are codependents.

Really? Not the PP, but please give us examples of how any of these women are "traitors" to other women. Thanks.

Since when is the WHCD supposed to be some feel good event? They want it to be edgy and uncomfortable to get attention for their fundraising. Remember when Stephen Colbert ripped W. To shreds right to his face? Yeah, not a feel good moment and highly criticized.

They work for Trump. You're welcome.

Who would voluntarily spend more than one second in this ugly woman's presence?

What? Really, she said that? I watched first few minutes, and once she started, how broke is he... it was so boring and stupid, like preschool I stopped. How is joking about abortion acceptable even among liberals? Abortion might be accepted by people, but there is not a single woman in the world that would ever joke about it(clearly apart from this idiot), whether she had it or not. Making that decision is without a doubt the hardest decision any pro or against woman can make. She doesn't have kids, yet that is not an excuse. No mother would ever joke about abortion, pro or against.

Can they not get Tim Allen to do it next year? At least he is funny sometimes!
