Lol you were incorrect that it was the burka that was banned and I fully support frances decision. Hey kidos for identifying errors but i am typing on a smartphone. That was not my initial arguement. What an idiot you are. Seriously who raised you? The french banned burkinis got that? Why? Because FRENCH INTELLIGENCE found reasons to do so. The relative in further articles if you bothered to do some research said that the fenal bomber wore traditional clothing. Your lazy ass cannot do appropriate research that is why you are still a misinformed idiot. Do you really think someone who was radicalized would wear jeans and a tshirt when attakcing? Have not seen it happen. The french are smart to take any necessary precautions and input any necessary bans in this time of crisis. Love france! One neighbour, Hassane, described her as a 'Tom boy', always dressed in jeans, trainers and a black cap - until around eight months ago, when she adopted the niqab. He said: “She wasn't scared of anyone. She was like a little soldier. She was very lively, very dynamic. She didn't have a niqab before. She was always in jeans and trainers. ” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/12004720/Paris-attacks-female-suicide-bomber-shouted-Help-me-Help-me-to-police-during-Saint-Denis-raid.html |
| And oh yeah your stupid numbering on each of your posts isnannoying and makes you look like a condescending pig who know it all which you obviously do not. |
1. Please stop. You are embarrassing yourself. 2. Go to 1. |
The point isn't which is "equally bad". The point is that the government shouldn't be telling their citizens what clothes they can and cannot wear. |
1. You are a stupid misinformed idiot trying to sound as if you know it all when you do not. Your parents would be so embarassed for you. 2. See number 1. |
PP here who posted the first quote above-yes, you got the point I was making. Not only that, but we expect that repressive regimes may enforce ridiculous restrictions on women, but don't expect an "indivisible, secular, democratic, and social Republic", as France describes itself, to do so. I'm not sure when this forum turned into a place where it's necessary to make statements on EVERY angle of an issue and/or have posted on EVERY thread on related issues. |
Please tell me you are a troll. |
These are the higher SES Saudis, Jordanians, Turks, and Iraqis who can afford to live in the Tysons area. The Skyline high rise apartments and condos across the street from the Burlington Coat Factory Starbucks are loaded with low SES Eritreans (their hated kinsmen, the Ethiopians, live along Columbia Pike into Arlington), Yemenis, Algerians, Somalis, and a few Nigerians. Many are taxi drivers who have similar service jobs. The Pakistanis are merchants and have 7-11s and similar stores while the Persians have the traditional rug stores and higher end service providers. They are more westernized (even though their fellow Pakistanis and Persians in their home countries are not). The mosque near Seven Corners draws these lower SES people to the area and this is where the ISIS group breeds. |

Their country, their rules
The US needs to stop sticking its damn nose into other people's business. We claim we respect differences. Well then, respect their right to protect their cultural beliefs. |
Oh please. I was in the south of France and never saw burkinis. That was a long time ago and we would have noticed on those trips. Also didn't see them here frequently so we have had a growth in burka/headscarf wearing. |
Has the US gov't stuck its nose in France's business regarding this issue? People are just expressing opinion here. Last I checked, we can do this still in this country. Maybe the French gov't should butt out of what people wear at the beach. |
France claims to be a democracy. A democracy doesn't tell people what to wear. Plain and simple. |
| Nuns usually don't fit the profile of suicide bombers. |
On beaches in the south of France, "butt out" pretty much describes a lot of the swim suits. |
To what end? Your whining will not change France's rules. their country, their rules Respect them or find another vacation spot. |
