Woman of color who prefers white men

Anonymous
Am I the only person who hadn't given much thought to the possibility of other women feeling ownership over men of their race?

Maybe so, but white men are still more beloved and sought after by women worldwide than anyone else. Can't knock the hustle.

Sought after, maybe. Beloved? I don't know.

Money talks. That's the "secret." White guys are "sought after" because of the perception that they have money and "privilege." If Filipino men had a reputation for being rich and powerful and controlling the world, then women would be after Filipinos. When white males stop having money and power we'll see how beloved and sought after we are.

Yup, that's it. In the U.S. because of history, institutions, laws, policy and a host of other bullshit, white men are and have been privileged. If and when things change, you will see more diversity in many areas, more eligible gentlemen of all hues, and the corresponding ratio of assholes in all stripes. So, all women be forewarned...

Do you believe the stupid shit that comes out of your mouth? You view white men through a uniform lens, which is, by definition, racist. You choose to believe white men have some special privilege. As a white man, I see scholarships and work opportunities that are for minorities only. From my perspective, I have to wonder why these opportunities go largely unused. If you'll excuse the pun, the shit ain't so black and white as you want to believe.

OP, I don't think white women are typically upset by white men dating outside of their race. The ones that do get upset are mostly like racist in general.

Of all races, I think whites are the most accepting of interracial dating (in modern times, not 30+ years ago) despite the widespread perception that whites are the most racist people of all.

If you were smarter, you could've done some reading up on American history to understand why affirmative action and minority scholarships don't constitute privilege equivalent to white privilege. But you aren't, so you won't.

But here again you're making a blanket statement that all white men have advantages. Some do, many don't. That's the inherent racism; to assume that a white man walks a path paved with gold because he's white, while a black man has no real chance because he's black. This simply isn't true.

Never expected to be - I dated and had LTRs with foreign men and Latinos and blacks. I really kind of avoided white men as a rule, as I harbored negative stereotypes based on my unfortunate experiences (including, indeed, being fetishized by white men because of my Latino background).

Life is funny that way, I guess.

Glad to see you overcame your racist anti-white upbringing, unlike so many other anti-white racists posting here who are too stupid and racist to realize it.

Excuse me?

The point isn't that you walk a path paved with gold. The point is that whatever path you're walking, if you weren't white, the path would be much, much thornier.

I'm a white guy who worked incredibly hard for what I've gotten -- parents weren't well off, worked my way through school finishing a master's by age 22, 80 hour weeks and living frugally to make a really solid life for myself. A lot of wealthy non-white kids I know have had it far easier and gotten farther while doing less. Doesn't matter -- the point is that a non-white kid in my shoes would have had a much rougher time than I did.

You must be stupid. Please report to the thread on biracial/bicultural marriages to read of white tolerance.

I have definitely been hurt by losing a few white female friends who just couldn't believe that white men they found attractive wanted and preferred dark "exotic" me. No one told them that Disney movies aren't real, lol.

The dagger stares I received from some white women who saw me out with my various nonwhite girlfriends (African American and Asian) over the years still haunt me.

White women definitely care. They react very poorly to any indication that they are not the gold standard. I have had white waitresses "accidentally" spill water on me or refuse to look at me when taking my order. I have had white female coworkers ask very rude questions like "do you think he has a fetish?" To these women, a man of color dating a white woman is normal, but a white man dating a woman of color must have an unhealthy fetish. Okay then.

White woman here. I had no idea that some white women hated seeing women of color date white men. I do think a lot of white guys have an Asian fetish which creeps me out and makes me glad I'm not an Asian woman dealing with that but generally I don't care who a white guy dates.

Typical ww underhanded comment. You just proved pp's point.

Haha yes, she did. Even when being sneaky and dishonest, white women can't help but show their true colors.

Right. Because PP= all white women. Are you stupid? Or just blinded by your hatred of white women?

Great reminder why we need to promote socioeconomic diversity, not primarily racial one, in higher ed.

He means that a nonwhite kid from a humble background trying to get an education and a career going will have a rougher time than a white kid from a humble background on the same quest. Not that every single white person has it easier than eery single black person. Controlled for socioeconomic factors, black kids have it harder than white kids in the same SES circumstances.
