| Am I the only person who hadn't given much thought to the possibility of other women feeling ownership over men of their race? |
Do you believe the stupid shit that comes out of your mouth? You view white men through a uniform lens, which is, by definition, racist. You choose to believe white men have some special privilege. As a white man, I see scholarships and work opportunities that are for minorities only. From my perspective, I have to wonder why these opportunities go largely unused. If you'll excuse the pun, the shit ain't so black and white as you want to believe. |

OP, I don't think white women are typically upset by white men dating outside of their race. The ones that do get upset are mostly like racist in general.
Of all races, I think whites are the most accepting of interracial dating (in modern times, not 30+ years ago) despite the widespread perception that whites are the most racist people of all. |
If you were smarter, you could've done some reading up on American history to understand why affirmative action and minority scholarships don't constitute privilege equivalent to white privilege. But you aren't, so you won't. |
But here again you're making a blanket statement that all white men have advantages. Some do, many don't. That's the inherent racism; to assume that a white man walks a path paved with gold because he's white, while a black man has no real chance because he's black. This simply isn't true. |
Excuse me? |
The point isn't that you walk a path paved with gold. The point is that whatever path you're walking, if you weren't white, the path would be much, much thornier. I'm a white guy who worked incredibly hard for what I've gotten -- parents weren't well off, worked my way through school finishing a master's by age 22, 80 hour weeks and living frugally to make a really solid life for myself. A lot of wealthy non-white kids I know have had it far easier and gotten farther while doing less. Doesn't matter -- the point is that a non-white kid in my shoes would have had a much rougher time than I did. |
You must be stupid. Please report to the thread on biracial/bicultural marriages to read of white tolerance. |
Haha yes, she did. Even when being sneaky and dishonest, white women can't help but show their true colors. |
Right. Because PP= all white women. Are you stupid? Or just blinded by your hatred of white women? |
Great reminder why we need to promote socioeconomic diversity, not primarily racial one, in higher ed. |
I'm curious...are you white? Can't say that I agree with that statement. |
How is this not contradictory? |
PP here. Yes. |
He means that a nonwhite kid from a humble background trying to get an education and a career going will have a rougher time than a white kid from a humble background on the same quest. Not that every single white person has it easier than eery single black person. Controlled for socioeconomic factors, black kids have it harder than white kids in the same SES circumstances. |
