At DC privates - Why are VA parents considered "inferior"?

FYI: I live in North Arlington, right across Chain Bridge. I can leave my house at 7:30 and be at St. Pats in 6 minutes. And GDS takes maybe one minute more. What lights? The light at Chain Bridge for those of us coming down Glebe is always green. And when traveling at 7:30, we don't encounter bad traffic.

I chose not to live in VA because it was the one state in which a real estate agent would not show use houses in certain desirable areas because we were not white. You live in VA so that you can keep your neighborhoods white.

Hahahhahah , yeah right you couldn't afford so it's racist

WTF is wrong with you? What an ignorant thing to say. Let me guess, you think racism doesnt exists anymore, do you? You are a complete f*cking ASS!

Yeah cause only whites get elected president

Why is Kanye West on OTM?

Yes, you definitely live in VA.

THIS JUST IN. SCHOOL IS FOR YOUR CHILDREN. Enough with the puerile DC vs. VA or city vs. suburbs manufactured debate, already!

But here goes:

If you are VA parents at a DC private, upon finding out where you live, this is what I (many, most, some) who live in DC or Bethesda/CC will think:

1) You are a conservative. Maybe not a card carrying Republican, but conservative.

2) You are racist. Maybe not racist with a big R, but particularly when it comes to AA, you will hold stereotypical thoughts in your head and maybe experience discomfort if not disdain as you smile and make polite small talk with said individuals, even though in the back of your head you are thinking not so nice thingss.

3) You are possibly slightly or maybe even greatly anti-Semitic. You are certainly not Jewish. If by chance you are a Jewish private school family, and are living in VA, then you are either confused or are a sell out of sorts.

4) You are uptight. Yes, you might be reasonably entertaining after you've had that second martini or scotch, but otherwise you are just such a stick in the mud.

5) You are materialistic.

Only a transplant would think such a thing - someone who obviously knows nothing about the DC area (except that obviously there's no Jewish people in NoVA - I will give you that - but that's not antisemitic).

Let me get you up to speed:

1) 50s 60s - PG was the new DC
2) 70s 80s - MoCo was the new PG/DC
3) 2000s - NoVA was the new MoCo - some flee to Howard Co. and Fredneck
4) 2000s - white transplants move to DC in the droves - no more chocolate city.

Well, there's the thriving JCC in Fairfax and several synagogues in the Alexandria, Fairfax and Springfield area so there are obviously Jewish people in NoVA.

Just a thought...

If DC privates are filled entirely with old money plutocrats... then why is the median donation in most annual reports only in the $500 - $1,000 range?

The social climbers at our independents ventured down I95 within the past 30 years. Some live in Virginia. Most don't. You know them - the ones with the Giants bumper stickers and the Red Sox hats.

This thread makes me doubt the intellegence of posters. NOVA is more than 30% foreign (by cencus). Far from being all white. Also Dem in the last 2 elections.

The Va parents in the DC private schools just don't happen to be the foreigners who constitute 30% of NOVA or the Democrats who voted blue in the last two elections. NOVA is generally racist in spite of the foeigners and Democrats in their midst.

How do you think we keep our nice old money, PP? It's called being frugal, or cheap, depending on your view.

I'm going to vote stupid. This whole thread is a disgrace to anyone living in MD or DC. As a PP stated, what a bunch of puerile dolts.
