Rest in peace, hell. He's swimming with the fishes now. (Yes, I know fish is the plural of fish!) |
So they quickly buried Osama in the sea. Can you see what the next conspiracy theory will be? Election is coming up, the economy sucks, etc. Perfect timing for him to be dead. There are some people who don't believe that Obama was born in the States, you know. |
Want proof? (Warning: gruesome image)

I've heard that these images are photoshopped. I don't believe it for a second. |
the photo has been widely discredited as a fake. |
I understand the emotions of these folks (the "gravedancers"). It has been nearly 10 years since 9/11 and this man was a pivotal reason why our lives have changed so much. Over an even longer period of time, he killed scores more of his own people than he did Americans. I have no sorrow for his demise, but I rejoice privately and have hope that the world just got that much closer to realizing peace. I am so thankful for our military and the men/women who carried out the necessary actions yesterday -- we will never forget how we hurt on 9/11. I believe we are a strong and peaceful nation and we will not cower to thugs. I think it was Vegetius who said something like "those who long for peace, must prepare for war." |
That could easily be said about either party. Neither are open minded to each other and neither seem able to comprehend where the other is coming from. Really, think about it. There is so much hatred between the two groups that no matter what is said it's going to be held against you. I am an independent because I am fiscally conservative but socially liberal. I am not a backer of either party and I have never voted down party lines. I vote the candidates that closer fit my ideals. Sometimes it's a Rep. sometimes it's a Dem. I was the first to point out that he should have been captured in the times of Clinton. Not that I was blaming Clinton for not capturing him really saying it was a shame we didn't catch him back then. Since Clinton didn't get him, Bush certainly should have, and he shouldn't have used Bin Laden as a launch pad for his own agenda and selfish need to finish what his father started. Maybe he would have been caught sooner if GWB was more focused. Obama was the one in charge when he was finally found but he is the third President to be looking for this slippery bastard. All the while our troops have been living and dying trying to find him. Thank Obama, sure, but he's not the guy who sacrificed life or limb to find him. He's the one who took over the operation. He wasn't the one on the ground gathering information or interrogating prisoners. Yes, he succeeded, but it took *even* him a couple of years and he had lots of data that had already been collected. I remember the morning of 9/11 so clearly an my first thought was that it was Bin Laden who was responsible. No one in my office thought I was right and couldn't see how I could make the connection between the bombing of the USS Cole and the tower attacks. Especially in that first hour. I have a feeling we have stirred the pot and there will be some sort of retaliation on our soil. |
This. The whole rejoicing thing is sickening. Someone was killed. Shot in the head. Others (including women) were killed. Multiple children were apparently there too and were probably scared out of their minds. I get that perhaps this needed to happen and that he killed many many more people, but I don't think rejoicing anyones death is appropriate. |
you wouldn't rejoice the death of Hitler if it had prematurely ended WWII? this evil man encouraged pre-teens and young women to be suicide bombers. He caused the death of very many innocent people not involved in any kind of conflict. He is a bad guy, and it is good he is dead. raise a glass. |
You darn right I'm rejoicing (privately). Ten long years. We need the catharsis. |

I'm the quoted poster, and I should be clear that I'm not saying that this man should not have been killed. As a mentioned, this probably needed to happen. It's the "taking to the streets and dancing" that is sickening to me. And incidentally, also what could be potentially dangerous for our country. |
These kids don't understand how their dancing in the streets will make our country look bad. They don't have the life experience or knowledge base. All they know is they wanted to celebrate the victory and when crowds started gathering more kids wanted to join them. |
Yeah, remember after 9-11, the news was showing footage of middle-eastern crowds celebrating in the streets? It turned out to be stock reel of post-soccer-game partying, but certain Americans (ok, my mom) have never forgotten the visceral reaction that had seeing it, and TO THIS DAY talk about how Muslims celebrate when Americans die. THAT'S the rhetoric that the GW kids have handed the opponent. Well done, kids. |
Yes, but occasionally it's nice to have our family members remembered and not have the world keep someone else as the topic of conversation. |
Wow, I saw those clips - never heard the follow up that it was stock footage though of soccer game partying. I thought they really were dancing on our graves..... |
