Who cares whose watch it was on! He is DEAD. Sure, this doesn't mean we will ever be free and clear of crazies but he is dead and we did it. Hell yeah!!!! |
Way to go armed forces . |
I'm less concerned about DC and more worried about my colleagues in Pakistan. Wonder what US businesses and NGOs are going to do over there once this news breaks? |
Bush is knocking back a scotch right now while curling up in the fetal position on his mom's lap.... |
Obama does get to take credit. Bush took resources AWAY from Afghanistan in order to pursue his Saddam vendetta. Obama said during the campaign that he would refocus efforts in Afghanistan and DID.
|
It is a real concern. |
My first reaction was also to worry about retaliatory attacks. I'm not sure how much this will really weaken the AQ structure. (But I say this as someone with no knowledge of security issues beyond mainstream news.) |
It is waaaaaaaaaaay too early, but you may have already won the thread... ![]() |
I agree, I have such a mix of emotions right now. |
Osama Bin Laden was a beast at hide n seek... better than Saddam. |
To the PPs mentioning Afghanistan, he was found in Pakistan. A country which told Bush and Obama that Obama was not in their country. And agree with the PPs who say we need to thank our armed force. Has much more to do with them than any of the presidents |
I am also worried about my colleagues in the region.
To inject a little humor, the commenters over a lucianne.com (the crankiest of right-wing crank sites) are furious that Obama sat on this news until he could interrupt Celebrity Apprentice with his special address. |
Awesome, now we are all going to die! Anybody renting out a cave that I can hide out in? |
It's crazy to me that he was hiding out in a mansion! |
I am unnerved by the jingoistic mainstream media reaction. Is ABC going to draw lots for who gets to be first in line to beat the body with a stick? |
