Maybe it's hard to believe for you, but check with HR people especially in tech companies, it's so true. And check out students in STEM majors in colleges, a third are Asian-American, plus internationals will be more than two third, don't even need to look at graduate school. |

Republicans have become the party of labor House Republicans just introduced the End H-1B Visa Abuse Act of 2026 — a 3-YEAR PAUSE on new H-1B visas + massive reforms to protect American workers from Big Tech abuse! Key provisions of the bill include: • Reducing the annual H-1B visa cap from 65,000 to 25,000 and eliminating all existing exemptions. • Limiting visas to a single three-year term (instead of two). • Requiring applicants to maintain a foreign residence they intend to return to. • Mandating that employers attest they cannot find a qualified U.S. worker, that hiring the foreign worker will not harm American workers, and that they have not laid off (and will not lay off) U.S. workers in the prior or following year. • Setting a minimum salary of $200,000 for H-1B workers. • Awarding visas based on the highest wage offered, replacing the current lottery system. • Prohibiting H-1B workers from working for multiple employers or third-party staffing agencies. • Codifying President Trump’s $100,000 fee per H-1B hire. • Banning H-1B (and H-2A/H-2B) workers from bringing family members to the U.S. • Preventing the federal government from sponsoring or employing nonimmigrant workers. • Requiring nonimmigrant workers to leave the U.S. before changing to another immigration status. He got the headlines, and of course he didn't continue it because fewer than half of his properties used it. We've seen that one before. Remember Biden when they asked what his policy was. "Trust me I'm not Trump" Then he spent more time undoing Trump's EO than anything else. They tried to pass amnesty through reconciliation numerous times. They repeatedly tried to give away green cards in the Chips Act. Mum isn't good enough for Democrats anymore. They have to make their policy clear, and by clear they need to actually do something. They have levers they can pull, but right now the Republican states are the ones doing it. Florida and Texas restricted H-1B in public schools. Why haven't Democrat states that claim to be anti-H-1b done that? |
