hey dummy, I know what's going on but I am not going to blame a lowly paid H1 worker who is following the rules. You are stupid. This is not a Dem problem. This is a corporate greed problem, where many of these corporate execs have been funneling money to the Trump family. Has increasing the fees to $100K created more jobs for American IT workers? LOL There are layoff happening everywhere even as corporations are making record profits furthered by the huge tax cuts Trump gave them. Open your eyes. This is about greed, and the politicians and rich families like the Trumps who make money by buying and selling favors. As an example: Apple had to kiss Trump's a$$ to get favors. That's the problem with American capitalism. |
show us a SINGLE democrat advocating to restrict H2 visas? a SINGLE democrat ??????? |
So.. let me understand... you acknowledge that the system and people are corrupt, greedy, people greasing palms, but then you go support a corrupt, greedy, evil leader (Trump) who is all about having people grease his palm? Because you like what he says even though not so behind the scene he is corrupt, greedy, evil and expecting to have his palm greased? MAGA logic. |
Show me what Trump has done about H2s? Here, I'll show you: Trump increases visa: first term: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-administration-brings-in-15000-more-temporary-workers-this-year/ second term: https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-administration-will-add-roughly-65000-seasonal-guest-worker-visas-2026-2026-01-30/ https://news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-report/trump-seasonal-visa-reversal-breaks-from-foreign-labor-crackdown
I'm sure they greased Trump's palm. Trump picks eastern european foreign workers over Americans https://www.vox.com/2018/2/13/16466542/trump-h-2b-guest-workers Who's your saviour now? |
factually wrong but you already know that. 1. if you a recent immigrant and want to keep the pipeline open , it makes sense to bring over the entire village. 2. Of if you are an administrator at a hospital or medical center, it also makes sense to import as many cheap workers as possible. 3. but if you are a regular US worker or consumer you are either naive or just plain dumb. They Passed Over American Doctors The biggest lie in the U.S. healthcare debate is that we do not have enough American doctors. The truth is simple. We produce them. We just refuse to train them. In 2024 nearly 20 percent of U.S. medical school seniors failed to match into a residency. That is 8,869 qualified graduates who spent years in school, passed their boards, took on massive debt, and still never got the one thing they need to practice medicine. At the same time more than 9,700 foreign trained doctors matched into U.S. residencies in 2025. Many hospitals prefer them because they accept lower pay, longer hours, and have no leverage to complain. You cannot practice medicine in the United States without residency. So if Americans are locked out, someone else will fill the spot. The choke point is not medical school. It is the federally funded residency cap. Congress has not increased these slots fast enough while medical school enrollment has exploded. The result is a rigged bottleneck that leaves American doctors unmatched while taxpayer dollars train replacements from overseas. The Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act of 2025 would add 14,000 residency slots over seven years. Even that will not undo years of damage, but it is proof that Washington knows the system is broken. Until Congress expands residency slots at the scale required, the United States will keep graduating qualified doctors who never get to practice. Then hospitals will turn around and say there is a physician shortage and use it as an excuse to import more foreign labor. It is not a shortage. It is policy. we know republicans are evil. but Democrats used to be the party of labor but have abandoned US workers, YET STILL CLAIM THEY WANT TO HELP US WORKERS!!!!! show a single Democrat that advocates to reduce H2 visas? meanwhile. the evil party is ... Two complementary bills now pending would deliver what executive action cannot. In the House, Rep. Eli Crane's End H-1B Visa Abuse Act (H.R. 8443) pauses new H-1B issuance for three years, then permanently cuts the cap to 25,000 and imposes a real labor-market test on every petition. In the Senate, Sen. Tom Cotton's Visa Cap Enforcement Act (S. 2941) closes the loopholes that let hundreds of thousands of additional foreign workers slip past the 65,000 statutory cap each year. Together, they address both the size of the program and the loopholes that inflate it well beyond what Congress originally authorized. Send a message to your U.S. Representative urging him/her to support and pass H.R. 8443, the End H-1B Visa Abuse Act, and to your U.S. Senators urging them to support and pass S. 2941, the Visa Cap Enforcement Act. |
DP. It's silly to look at this in a vacuum. To say that Dems don't want to help workers because they've only called for restrictions on the plan, not elimination. What's missing is a robust debate? What is the MAGA plan for healthcare if we do this? Dems have called on limitations on healthcare visas because rural healthcare is already suffering. You have to balance US workforce versus other issues -- there's lobbyists on both sides. Take solar, do we want green energy or US jobs and how to best balance the two interests. So far, MAGA has given us no plan for what happens when all these immigrants go away. What's the PLAN? They haven't increased schooling (and in fact, are trying to curb college funding if colleges aren't loyal), nor have they talked about who is going to care for GenX in 20 years with a population falling off the cliff? I'm willing to support policies that are well thought out, not just a boogeyman vote getter, which is all this is. If you think MAGA wants to hurt the billionaire class, there is no debating with you. |
| Apologies for grammar ^^ on phone and typing fast. |
show a list of Democrats advocating for reforming H1B or OPT or L1 name a few, sounds like in your world, Democrats are all for supporting US workers first. i dont see it , so help me. |
come on you are so fast please list the Democrats advocating for repeal or limiting H1B or Optional Practical Training or L1 visas???? please |
Dems do want to help workers by.. 1. offering parental leave 2. helping with childcare costs 3. providing affordable health insurance 4. increasing minimum wage 5. investing in renewable energy to create jobs, not to mention reduce reliance on dirty fuel and foreign energy, which leads us to... 6. not starting a stupid foreign war that increases gas and food prices 7. not starting a stupid trade war that increases prices overall. They are indeed stupid, though, for listening to tech execs, but what's truly evil is that Trump knows that it hurts American workers yet still imports these foreign workers over American workers and will do the bidding of corporations as long as they enrich him. Stupid is stupid, but hypocrisy, greed and evil is just that. Stupid people can learn; greedy evil people like Trump don't change their ways. He's had 60 years to do that. He's not changing now, especially now that he has dementia. |
Whose fault is it there is no debate? We asked Biden what his policy plans were, "Trust me I'm not Trump". I don't know what to tell you. If you're upset about the lack debate, why are you screaming at Republicans? Oh, I know you just want a debate to delay and obfuscate. When are American worker's voices going to be heard, what role do they have in the debate, and when is the mainstream media going to shut their traps. |
If you think my post was "screaming" then we stop here. Dems talk policy all the time but it backfires on them. People like sound bites. American workers have their voices heard by contacting their elected congresspeople, having their unions lobby (which MAGA wants to bust), voting, running for office, and organizing locally. Just like the rest of us. But, what about Trump? Did he outline a plan at his SOTU? That's when most presidents talk about their policies. Trump is a master at social media, yet he hasn't talked about his plan for workers or what happens when we don't have immigrants. It's a lot of hyperbole and bluster. Are you thinking about the unintended consequences of dramatically decreasing immigrants? It doesn't sound like solution is just hire all these willing Americans, as wonderful as that might be--it's not proving to be realistic. |
I don't "have immigrants". |
This is all great, but even if this passes, available jobs for American citizens are unlikely to increase without also targeting outsourcing. Every major fortune 500 company has an offshore outlet or a contract with a big offshore bodyshop to provide labor that could be done by our grads easily in the USA. The number of these positions across all the companies is enormous. Right now there is zero penalty or any type of tax for our corporations to offshore the entire departments if they wanted to. It's time to tax this sh*t. I don't see how these extra profits are trickling down to us. |
