Hah, my mom would have ripped them to shreds too. |
| I was getting hopeful this wasn't a crime and she will be found fine, but articles sound like they do consider it a crime and that she left involuntarily. |
There is no trust fund. Her father died when she was young and she had to work extra jobs to help support her family. |
Not necessarily. You don’t kidnap an elderly woman just for their credit cards. |
| According to reddit there are articles where the police say there is no threat to the public and it is a crime scene. The thing is, if Savannah was getting any threats you know she would make sure mom had even more security. Did she recently do an expose? Is she reporting on the protests and mass murder of the people of Iran? Supposedly the IRGC is all over the US! |

People = read the articles. She had cameras.
Police have said they know she didn't leave on her own AND they have declared her house a crime scene. Start your speculating from known facts! She didn't wander off in the night. |
+1 I don’t know that much about dogs but seems like older dogs or dogs with more health issues may need to go out at night. |

It's true, this could be some sort of crazy pizza-gate like situation.
A lot of loco and violent maga conspiracy theorists out there as we saw on January 6. |
| The nightly news just reported that she was taken out of her bed in the middle of the night and that she was hurt. |
|
The local sheriff is now saying that she was taken from her bed in the middle of the night and was “harmed in the process”. They aren’t saying exactly what this based upon, but I’m sure they would not release that info the media if they were not pretty certain.
It really does not look good. This poor woman. I also feel so sorry for the family. I really can’t even imagine. |
Horrible!! The fact they say the public is safe makes me think she was targeted. OMG! |
I doubt it. Was she reporting at all on Mexico and drug cartels? |
|
I’m from Tucson and I think a maga crazy like pizza gate is not out of the question. There are definitely some people like that there. I did not think the wander away scenario was likely because that area is very hilly and she would not have gone far if she had for instance gone out after dog and tripped or something like that.
I feel so bad for Savannah and her mom. It’s such a nightmare. I do wonder if she has received any communication from the kidnapper and police doesn’t want to release that info yet. I’m a little surprised she didn’t have a home security system that would automatically dial 911 and/or family members. For some reason it’s hitting me hard also thinking of Gabby Gifford, who went to my HS. It’s another Tucson girl done good from about the same generation who tried to stand up for other people and make a difference and was targeting by a crazy. |
Incorrect. As a different PP pointed out, that statement is true for literally EVERYONE. i.e. meaningless. And if you think some variation hasn’t been overused, i.e. trite, then congratulations, you’re just stupid! |

The police have stated there was not a ransom note.
I don’t think it is realistic that someone would want to harm her based on politics or as some sort of revenge. This case is really strange IMO. Seems the most likely scenario is it was someone she semi knew (a service worker of some sort). Pool guy, landscaper, someone who had come to fix something or deliver something to the house. Probably assumed she had a lot of money- being Guthrie’s mother- and something went wrong or got out of hand. Other option would be a sicko/SA. I really hope not, but there have been cases before. |
