If local police feel they are being innundated with illegal imigrant criminals out there criming, and they cannot keep their population safe, I have no problem with them reaching out to DHS for logistical support.

Just keep everything on the correct side of the Constitution.

In fact, I AM concerned about actual gang violence. If DHS wants to help local police go after known gang members? I'm all for it. IF they ask for the support. And keep their efforts legal.

Except DHS is pretty good at the crime themselves. These are the last people you want running around masked with guns drawn.

Criminality is so rampant inside CBP that it has seen one of its own agents or officers arrested every 24 to 36 hours since 2005. CBP’s misconduct scandal is so long-running that today it would be old enough to drink.

In total, according to CBP’s own discipline reports, over the 20 years from 2005 to 2024 — the last year numbers are available — at least 4,913 CBP officers and Border Patrol agents have been arrested themselves, some multiple times. (In 2018 alone, a single CBP employee was arrested five times.) To put that number in perspective:

• The population of CBP agents and officers who have been arrested would make it roughly the nation’s fourth largest police department — equal to the size of the entire Philadelphia police.

• Indeed, for much of the 2010s and likely before and since, it appears the crime rate of CBP agents and offices was higher PER CAPITA than the crime rate of undocumented immigrants in the United States.

Walking through eight countries to make a fake asylum claim here is not "legal entry" in any conventional or real sense of this term. If some apparat's stroke of a pen once made this the rule, another's eraser can immediately restore sanity.

If you’re fleeing real danger, why not claim asylum in any of these earlier countries:

• Colombia (first big one after Ecuador, then the dangerous Darién Gap jungle crossing into Panama)
• Panama
• Costa Rica
• Nicaragua
• Honduras
• El Salvador (sometimes skipped depending on the path)
• Guatemala
• Mexico (the last one before the US border—biggest stretch, buses/trains, lots of risks but stable overall)

Those countries are legally “safe” for asylum claims. If you’re running from real persecution, you stop and ask for protection there.

Your list does not make the brilliant point you think you are making. Thinking you will be safer in the US than in other Latin American in no way invalidates an asylum claim.

DP. Safer? Safer from what?
The foundation of an asylum claim is not based on overall “safety”. Claims are based on grounds of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Most people with claims not going to be able to establish that they would be even at moderate risk in most of the countries PP listed. And that’s IF the claim is real.

If agents just detain people for whom they have a judicial warrant (meaning there is some evidence they should be detained, not just picking people up because they speak with an accent) that should significantly decrease the number of people who need a place in a local detention center.

I am very concerned about these privately run detainment centers. I believe there is MASSIVE grift going on. The administration is paying these privately owned detainment centers money each day for the bodies they send to meet their performance quotas. And people are being kept there for a long time, to keep capacity (and thus billing) at its maximum.

People are upset about Somalian run daycare centers and federal funding fraud? Please look at the massive grift that is happening with these detainment centers.

If I came here illegally via southern border crossing undetected, how would ICE know about me to obtain a warrant? If I'm in the car with someone who ICE is after, then I could be detained as well.

If no one knows about you? That means you aren’t terribly scary or harmful. Deport the actual bad guys. Require documentation of legal status for all federal aid, sure. Investigate anyone applying for federal aid to see if their documentation is up to date and correct.

You can even investigate employers to be sure they are correctly screening their employees for permission to work. But stop coming down heavily on random people just to see what you find.

Some employers are using e-verify and not catching people because they are using stolen IDs.

If I am in the car in the above scenario then I should be detained if necessary. Send a clear message that illegal immigration will not be tolerated. What is so difficult about that?

Also, know that schools receive federal funding for things such as school lunches. Are you in favor of verifying status to enroll?

ICE is operating under the quotas imposed by Trump himself. People are not just 'detained'. The agents have incentive to arrest people because that counts for their quota whether they are here illegally or not. People/Americans/immigrants (legal and otherwise) are arrested and sent to facilities/camps and held until they can produce x papers/documents. This is a violation of the fourth amendment and possibly 8th amendment. That is what is 'difficult' about that. The presence of people here illegally does not give the feds the right to violate these rights much less normalize their violation.

As for kids getting free food at schools - I will maybe care about that after Trump and his family and other criminal hanger-ons who are in charge of our country and profiting off of all of us to the tune of billions are GONE and hopefully in prison.

I wonder if the judge has evidence of these daily deportation quotas? I have heard it rumored but don't know if there is proof? Someone familiar with ICE says that agents need to capture 8 bodies per day on average, in order to get their $10,000 bonus each year.

"Ultimately, Petitioners may, because of the arcane United States immigration system, return to their home country, involuntarily or by self deportation. But that result should occur through a more orderly and human process than currently in place."

Thank you judge, for saying this.

Ok, but….
What does this more orderly and human process look like?

Lol typical liberal bs, everyone gets a bonus. There is nothing wrong with performance based bonus and with 14 million illegal aliens in the us 8 a week is not fast enough.

As it turns out, there IS something wrong with performance bonuses in this case. It leads to ICE agents brutality, the violation of the Constitution, and sometimes even the death of American citizens. Performance bonuses may be great for the sales team or your small business. But it is all wrong here!

I am cool with 10k payout to us citizens reporting illegals

Yes, you are seeing correctly.

First, this guy is a federal judge and literally can never be removed from the bench. Second, I won't go into detail, but Judeo Christian tradition and all that. Third, this is a regime that uses Christianity as a backstop to much of what it does. This is a pushback to the regime's weaponization of Christianity.

I’m not particularly religious anymore, but having been raised so, I find the current administration’s public and performative embrace of Christianity while violating daily the essential teachings of Christ to be the most fascinating example of the anti Christ in the modern era.

Because of that, I much appreciated the inclusion by the judge of two of the most well known and essential gospel verses - suffer the little children to come unto me, and Jesus wept.

I would ask the poster who believes this violates the First Amendment to the Constitution to explain their legal reasoning. In what way are you harmed, poster? In what way has your freedom of or freedom from religion been abrogated by the federal government?

I await your reply, please include Blue Book citations in your work.

^ not to mention ICE agents are wearing masks while 'detaining' people. This is not proper law enforcement protocol. They are operating outside the bounds of legality themselves.

Please take the time to read what the judge said in this order releasing Liam:

Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? In the signature, a US District Judge, in official documentation, lists bible verses?? Obviously I appreciate this judge's opinion and scathing remarks, but how can you be all for the Constitution on one hand while not understanding the importance of separating church and state on the other? I'm pretty sure quran or torah quotes would not be well received.

What Bible verses are you seeing?

Under the picture of Liam it says "Matthew 19:14 and John 11:35." Is this just something included in the poster's graphic of the judge's order or was this really included? The Microsoft Paint-like addition of the picture also seems super unprofessional to me, but I don't read judge's orders on any sort of regular basis so I wanted to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing correctly.

You don’t have any kind of grasp of the practice of law, clearly. It is not super unprofessional but in fact is super common for images to be contained in both pleadings and orders where relevant. I wonder under what line of reasoning you assert that photographic evidence is irrelevant or prejudicial in a court of law in the United States or any other country in the modern era? 🙄

First of all, no more quotas or bonuses for agents.
Secondly, agents need to only detain people when they have a judicial warrant.
Keep detainees close to their homes and families.
Preserve the consitutional rights of all people (whether citizen or not) and agents need to be investigated and punished if they violate the constitution, same as every other law enforcement officer.

1. Agree
2. Maybe
3. Yes, but will you support the construction or expansion of such facilities in your probably urban/suburban area so that the detainees can be close to their families and legal support? Because many blue states are trying to keep these facilities out. Then the detainees end up in places like Alabama or Lumpkin, GA in the middle of nowhere with little opportunity for legal support. So the libs can pat themselves on the back how they are such good people for not allowing these to be built in their county or state.
4. Agree

Furthermore, if all of these are achieved, there will still be some sad situations. Are you gonna be OK with that or should we never deport any noncriminal because it makes people sad?

By the way, your MAGA stench permeates through the electron shield into your posts to everyone who reads them. Defending fascism and pedophilia while advocating for the imprisonment of a 5 year old innocent is not a good look and doesn’t bode well for your future assessment by powers greater than DCUM.

Anonymous wrote:Why do they need asylum from Ecuador?

Your counterpoint is also not brilliant. Not to mention, ironically, the U.S. is not safer than several of the countries - many outperforming us on gun safety, maternal and infant mortality, life expectancy, etc.etc. Additionally, have you not seen the statistics how many asylum seekers *fly* to Mexico from all over the world to walk across (recent decades phenomenon)? Don’t you think this showcases how easy it is to claim asylum when you walk (or drive) across (plus you get all benefits immediately; work, school, medical, etc), but how cumbersome, lengthy, and impossible it is to start a legal claim from outside the U.S.? The current system is a mess.

Asylum claims based on “where the emigrant thinks they will be safer” basically means; if you fear for your life, you get free unlimited migration to anywhere in the world. This is certainly *not* the law in most countries in regard to how asylum claims are viewed, many do expect processing from the first neighboring safe country. Many countries have overhauled what it means to claim asylum, and what criteria need to be fulfilled. I think this needs to happen in the U.S. as well. And legal immigration needs to be encouraged by due process, abiding by rules, and processing decisions 10x faster, at least. And then a “no” can be a “no”, too, like in other countries, and a “yes” means you can start your new life without years or decades(!) in limbo.
