Did your husband notice?

A year? I usually only last a few minutes.

Why keep that a secret. Get a t-shirt printed up that says, Muff Divers Union Local #69, No muff too tuff.
I remember seeing those when I was a kid and had no idea what it meant.

There are a few places in the world where I've once been a tourist and randomly picked up some dirt/sand/shells/pebbles to bring home only to find out later via internet that I could have well been arrested and/or heavily fined. I had no idea. Between 20 and 30 years ago.

I waited for maybe two minutes and banged on the doors but no one answered. I paniced and went to a corner by the passport picture area and pooped on the floor behind the screen and ran out.

We were once coming home from a 6 hour road trip and only 2 miles from our house when the 6 yo couldn't hold it and pooped in his pants. We had to stop. My ex carried him into the restroom of a fast food place and when they came back out, our kid had dad's sweater wrapped around him instead of his pants. The pants and underwear had gone into the trash in the restroom.

Fast food worker in the early 2000s, I am very sorry

My BIL routinely sneaks onto Bull Run Battlefield and metal detects at night. He waits for full moons, dresses all in black, carries no phone or ID and uses a red light to avoid detection. He's really dug some awesome things. But he's gonna get caught one day.

I think while I was quickly looking stuff up before posting, I found out that it’s way worse in European countries to do this sort of thing

While in the US people sort of dig up arrowheads and the like all the time and it’s just not considered that big of a deal. I guess perhaps because so many “non indigenous” in the US have only “been here” for at best a few hundred years, not thousands of years … but again IDK

I also don’t know about civil war stuff, though

There’s a super BBC show called The Detectorists which had at least two seasons, it’s charming and lighthearted but their finds can go back 1000s of years and get put in museums and are supposed to belong to the commonwealth

This happened to me inadvertently. My daughters collect sand from various beaches. They filled empty water bottles w Aruba sand and put them in my snorkel gear. NO one caught us but man, I was pissed!
