Harvard no longer allowed to enroll international students

Its crazy this obsession thinking that every international student that comes to the US to get educated is some brilliant mind that we can't do without. I suspect for every brilliant international student there are some that are pretty average. I am all for a reasonable percentage of international students but we should be prioritizing giving American students these oppurtunities.

Okay but please. Huge groups of American students have been excluded from Harvard many times in its history.

What about all the smart American students that could have filled those spots and benefitted from a Harvard education and benefitted the economy. I don't think anyone is saying no international students but we need to put American students first.

If they can compete with the rest of the student body, the American students will get in. But my experience as an American with two Ivy degrees is that the international students were often the smartest in their classes. Losing that talent brings down American education as a whole.

Maybe this will inspire the US to improve the quality of our own HS graduates. Why aren’t we able to compete?
