I live in northern Ontario (ie nickel and gold belt), and I heard that Musk is involved in owning a new mine in Timmins (gold capital of northern ON). If this is true, I wonder if he is using his Canadian citizenship. FYI we produce tons of nickel up here that is exported to the US.

Same, I never vote conservative, and refrained from voting in this provincial election, but I do like Ford’s approach.

Sudbury? Impressed with DCUM's reach.

(I'm originally from North Bay but I left decades ago).

One thing that everyone around the world enjoys is a good Internet shit show and DCUM always delivers!

Not buying American goods.

Nope. Checking labels and buying Canadian as much as possible, from Canadian stores. I'm not surprised by your attitude, though.

Not buying American goods from Trump supporters.
Not buying American goods from companies that fail to pay their full share of taxes.
Not buying American goods from companies that rely upon Medicare and Snap instead of providing genuine benefits for their employees.

Buying goods from entrepreneurs and companies— including Canadian and Mexican companies— as alternatives.

Buying Canadian goods — from my perspective— isn’t about “sticking it to Trump — it’s about supporting Canada, and it’s about recognizing that there are alternatives to supporting businesses whose values do not align with mine.

Meaning he delivers lies. So many lies in that speech, including about his neighbours like Canada.

Well said.

It's amusing that the US putting their country first gets a "rah rah" response, but anyone else doing the same is mocked by supporters of Trump.

Someone explain this to me like I'm 5.

Canada and other nations have resources that Trump wants. Think of it like in a group of friends everyone has 2 cookies. Trump has two cookies but he wants more cookies. Trump’s a bit bigger and therefore thinks he deserves as many cooked as he wants - especially because his friends keep saying yes! You deserve more. So, Trump bullies Canada until he gets what he wants. Hopefully Canada joins with others and punches him in the nose when he tries to grab their cookies.

How do I know?

For years, democrats have been telling us that corporate taxes will not get passed on to the consumer.

So here we are. Let's just go by the democrat's "economics" for once!

Dems don't say that you moron. They say that corporate TAX CUTS will not get passed along. You know, the trickle down theory? The one that has been debunked for decades? Hell, even the architect of "trickle down", David Stockman, has admitted it was all BS.

What the heck. I am a Montrealer who lives in NB for work. I attend conferences in DC, which is why I am on here.

It’s all good.
I used to live in Montreal too. Still miss the cafes and restos, the jazz fest, and the bagels!

If our friends to the South would like to buy Canadian, St Viateur in Montreal will ship you bagels. These are the best!

DP, but I lived in Thunder Bay when I discovered DCUN while travelling to DC for work. Even more reach! (Now I’m in Niagara, so much closer).

Not a Ford Stan, but I do think he was the best party leader to deal with the current situation. Takes one to know one in a way.
