Yes, there are hundreds of miles of tunnels under Gaza, where the hostages are being kept. No, they are not all kept together. Some, early on were kept in homes above ground, but many were and are underground.

Hamas is not hiding. They are killing Israeli soldiers which is why they dont want to do door to door combat to actually find the hostages. Israel can only do the only thing it knows to do which is carpet bomb because they cannot beat Hamas on the ground. After their latest military casualties when trying to take over and defeat Hamas in North Gaza for the fourth time, Israel became so angry it decided to go nuclear literally. They've now resorted to using unheard of new weapons that vanish bodies completely within seconds. They are using small tactical nuclears in Gaza toward civilians and possibly their own citizens. This is Israel's war of annihilation but it doesnt seem to be annihilating Hamas only civilians. Their war is a failure just like all things from Netanyahu. Israel will likely be at civil war or do a military coup to get rid of Netanyahu within the next five years. Very sad state of affairs. I dont see any bright days ahead for Palestinians or Israelis.

Almost all the palestinians that ended up in refugee camps fled Israel in the days and weeks leading up to the anticipated invasion. Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq - none of these are perfect nation states and yet they still managed to become vibrant, authentic countries. It was only the Palestinians that went to war for an ethno-state. And it was a stupid decision.

Britain and the UN gave half of Palestine to the invading Jews in 1948. Palestine never had a chance to be a state.

The Arab world uses Palestine for proxy war against Israel and as a buffer against Israel expansion.

Of course Palestine had a chance. They could have made a nation of what they were given, but instead they wanted ALL of it and didn't want to share with the Jews. And I say "what they were given" because the hadn't controlled the land for hundreds of years. Prior to British mandate it was run by Ottoman Turks for centuries, and much of the land they lived on was held by landlords in Syria and elsewhere.

Don't forget the rejection of the camp david accord.

Don't forget how hamas exists in Gaza but not in the west bank after Israel voluntarily vacated their settlements in gaza because people were4 getting on their case about all the settlements (frankly the settlements are hard to justify).

Gazans thank God despite all their suffering daily. Israelis will blame God for not killing Palestinians faster.

Things you won't hear about is Hamas sodomizing or cracking the skull or ribs of hostages, or pushing the Israeli elder hostages off of wheelchairs like the IDF does to Palestinian elderly. The IDF is streaming cries of Palestinian kids from loudspeakers on their planes and tanks as soundtracks to their ears while Palestinians recite prayers to pass the time.
