I know that the Palestinians voted for Hamas in the beginning but surely by now must realize that Hamas is trying to kill them all, and therefore Palestinians should no longer have loyalty to them, right? Israel continues to have widespread support among the vast majority of Americans. And most of the Middle East has resented Palestinians for a very long time. You'll notice there are no pro-Palestinian protests in Beirut, Amman, Riyadh, Cairo and so on. Asia couldn't care less about Israel or Palestinians. Most of South America doesn't care either, and if it does come up, it's usually part of the far left movements that have been around for 50 years. Europe is more complicated. There is some genuine repulsion for Israel's actions. But it also gets enmeshed in historical anti-semitism and the huge influx of poor Muslim migrants from the Maghreb, Afghanistan, Syria etc.

I don't think Israel is that isolated. Even in the Arab world. Much of the region really appreciates Israel degrading Iran's capabilities in the region. Destroying Iranian proxy armies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis is incredibly popular in the Middle East. And so is slowing down Iran's nuclear ambitions. The moment things quiet down in Gaza, most of the Arab world will happily do business with Tel Aviv.

Israel continues to have widespread support among the vast majority of Americans. And most of the Middle East has resented Palestinians for a very long time. You'll notice there are no pro-Palestinian protests in Beirut, Amman, Riyadh, Cairo and so on. Asia couldn't care less about Israel or Palestinians. Most of South America doesn't care either, and if it does come up, it's usually part of the far left movements that have been around for 50 years. Europe is more complicated. There is some genuine repulsion for Israel's actions. But it also gets enmeshed in historical anti-semitism and the huge influx of poor Muslim migrants from the Maghreb, Afghanistan, Syria etc.

Hamas will never surrender conditionally or unconditionally. Death is not a viable threat to people who are willing to fight to their death. What is trump going to do, use nuclear weapons on Gaza? I Don't believe the hostages are still alive.

And that's the truth. When Hamas invaded Israel, absolutely no one in the Arab world sided with Palestinians. The entire region regarded that as an incredibly stupid decision carried out by idiots aligned with Iran. And Palestinians long ago lost any natural allies in the Middle East because of prior experiences - Black September in Jordan, causing the civil war in Lebanon, aligning with Saddam Hussein during the invasion of Kuwait, terrorism in Egypt, and so on. Palestinians were isolated to begin with. Their only ally is Iran, which is universally hated by nearly the entire Sunni world. Why they chose to invade Israel and commit all those atrocities is mystifying.

Israel absolutely has free rein. And the election of Trump only solidifies Israel's position. I mean Mike Huckabee is going to be the next ambassador to Israel for goodness sake. He doesn't even acknowledge the existence of Palestinians. He regards them as some lost Arabs who should have made a left in Jordan. The war only ends whenever Israel says it ends. And they were quite clear that the total eradication of Hamas is their primary aim. So... it really has been has been a FAFO moment for Palestinians. They really need better leadership. The path from Arafat to Sinwar, the PLO to Hamas, has been a disaster for them.
