We all know Jared Kushner's H degree is a joke. It's called holistic evaluation. |
I can’t believe how desperate all y’all are - which tells me you are not that smart, after all.
Stay in your lane and don’t mind so much what other groups are or are not doing. In the end, you are only in competition with your own. Full stop. No law suit will change that. You are stupid to think otherwise. |
Your own as in your own academic peers? Or your own as in in gender, race, ethnicity, zip code? |
+100 how can you not know Uncle Tom? Immigrant or not, if you are educated through just high school you will know the reference (even if you haven’t read the book). |
I don’t think most people have a problem with holistic admissions when it’s positioning that an elite athlete (excluding wealth proxy sports like sailing), musician or other superstar in a particular activity is getting into an elite college over someone that may have a higher SAT score. The issue is that URM status in and of itself turned into effectively being considered to be the equivalent of a superstar in a non-athletic activity. (It’s acknowledged that being a recruited athlete regardless of race is the single best admissions hook anyone can have.) *That* is what people have a problem with. Now, we can argue whether URM status should be considered in that same vein or not, but it’s way too flippant to just critique those that have an issue with the way Affirmative Action was applied as those that just care about a sole GPA/SAT ranking. There are other acknowledged forms of “merit” - athletic, artistic, leadership, etc. - that aren’t simply based on grades and test scores and I don’t think the majority of people are bothered by those applicants getting an admissions advantage at all. It’s the application of race specifically as the advantageous equivalent of those other types of holistic “merit” considerations that is both politically unpopular and now legally prohibited. |
Harvard lost. Being hysterical isn't helping you. |
Well, to be fair, let's not forget Michelle O's case. |
This is really telling isn’t it. |
We all love you. We are trying to help you. Direct some of your energy, resource, and time in improving things at the K-12 level so disadvantaged kids can kick ass when they come up for college. They are just as smart as Asians, whites, and Jews when nurtured from the earlier age. This will help these kids in college and in life. |
That's a huge "IF"... I don't see that happening, do you? |
“Asians, whites, and Jews”. Almost a parody |
Sounds like somebody who can't let their peas touch their mashed potatoes |
Clearly a racist. Nothing “almost” about it. |
It is impossible and unnecessary to pretend you are someone other than who you are are. Be yourself and put your best foot forward. |
I feel sorry for the AOs.
They’re going to be reading one essay after the next about how that applicant was persecuted or discriminated against. |
