yes, they are. you can read about it at: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/10/19/thresholds-of-violence |
Well stated. We won’t be able to get past those silos until that stops being collected. |

Allen and Plano have exponential Asian growth — yeah good point |
If banning weapons won't prevent these shootings, what is the point of banning them? |
It might work. Might as well try. Why not try? Perhaps ask why anyone should have access to assault weapons? There’s no legit purpose. All it does is create the opportunity for mayhem. |
This. Will it prevent all mass shootings? No. Will it prevent some? Definitely. |
It won't work -at first- b/c there are too many out there. Thanks, Republicans. But over time, those will age out, you have gun buybacks, etc. And those numbers will go down. Maybe not in my lifetime as I'm older. But over time. And if SCOTUS and our government can regain their brain cells and their balls on the issue, we may be able to move a bit faster. |
But wait, isn't the problem with assault-rifle-delivered mass shootings "mental health"? Why should limit access to more assault rifles? After all, who are we to limit mass shooters from the assault rifles they desire? MAGA! |
| Americans are 20x more likely to die of gun violence than people in other developed nations. Is it because Europeans love Jesus more than Americans do? |

BAN MAIMING AMMUNITION - specifically 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington rounds. Go after the *specifically and purposefully maiming ammunition used by modular semiautomatic rifles,* just as we've successfully done with armor-piercing ammunition.
Firearm experts are correct when they say that the semiautomatic AR-15 rifle is not a military weapon. The actual Army M4 RIFLE can fire in fully-automatic and three-shot burst modes. *BUT,* both fire the *SAME MILITARY ROUND.* *5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington rounds* should be illegal outside of military contexts. It's not a hunting round, and it's not necessary to remove limbs, destroy all internal organs, or obliterate heads in order to pursue self-protection. |
It'll take time, but that's the hope. We'll need Gen-Z, who grew up in this age of Republican-enabled mass murder, to take the dominant leadership role. That could involve re-making the Supreme Court with justices willing to re-interpret the "well-regulated militia" part of the Second Amendment the same way the current SC re-interpreted the settled case law Roe v. Wade. Alternatively, it feels like we're at a copy-cat precipice where these mass murder events are going to completely spiral out of control (i.e., many more than now), and the Republicans won't be able to ignore it any more. |
Delusional idiot. |

We lost 13 leaving Afghanistan and the republicans and conservatives call it a total disaster.
Texas 22 people kill and 25 wounded in under a week and it Texas handles this stuff so well because they are republicans. Saw that loser governor having a press conference at a military base. He was deploying troops to the border. He can not keep people safe. |
