Mass shooting at lgbt nightclub in Co

“Xavier Kraus, a neighbor of the accused shooter, said he and his girlfriend lived across the hall from Aldrich and their mother until September. Kraus said they mostly played video games together, often in Aldrich’s apartment.

Aldrich would occasionally express hateful attitudes toward people, Kraus recalled.

Kraus said he specifically remembered one time “Aldrich vocalized verbally” that they “did not like or slash hated the gays. Using a derogatory term for them.” He added that many other “outbursts” were “racial.”

Aldrich was “not someone I would have around my gay friends,” Kraus said. He said the alleged shooter never mentioned they were non-binary.”

Yup, the shooter is a rightwing troll. Just like I stated a few days back.

Between his dad and his grandfather, the shooter was probably brainwashed from a young age into rightwing hate.

This is absolutely something a rightwing degenerate troll from 4Chan would do. I bet he’s giggling to himself in his jail cell.

That’s the pathology we are dealing with in this country among a subset of radicalized men.

Bingo. This is exactly correct.

Link that this is what’s going on?

Go read any of the "Chan" forums, read the manifestos of the many right-wing mass shooters, read the research of the experts who have been following the far right. This sort of trolling is an intricate part of their movement.

So your proof is speculative. Got it

The shooter referred to himself as “your boy” last year while livestreaming the bomb threat he was charged with six felonies for.

jesus again

it's like every time these people are asked to either say the worst thing you could possibly say, or act like a normal human, they choose the worst thing. i think they mean it too - i think they are just that awful. it explains their behavior, their politics, the whole thing. they are simply terrible people.

He also claimed to be Mormon.

I'm no scholar on Mormonism, but something tells me that many people would dispute this description.

Why is a thread about a mass shooting something that is "political"? Is domestic terrorism "political" or is it something else? I wonder and worry about what we are letting come into the light when there is space for political debate around events like this.

This was a hate crime. It's not a set of agriculture policies that reasonable people could debate over and have different views on.

Can it be a hate crime if it is perpetrated by someone within the same group?

Self loathing doesn't exempt people from hating others and murdering them. I don't think hate crimes are defined by the victims being different from the shooter. I thought it was that they were sought out for whatever trait the shooter hates, even if he shares that trait.

Also, I haven't heard anyone except their lawyer say they're nonbinary.

It's too bad that people are going to try to minimize this because the shooter might be nonbinary. If they are it just means that instead of feeling safe and embracing their authentic self, they took in so much of the hate being spewed toward the community and shot 20+ people. It doesn't mean that there is less hate on the right toward the queer community.

Okay. But let's scroll back to the pulse nightclub massacre. That is generally considered an act of Islamic terrorism since he shouted things in Arabic and liked to view extremist propaganda.

Yet he also frequented the club and had several boyfriends that he met there and had been expressing frustration that his reputation at that club had soured. That would normally be considered a motive, but the Islamic terrorist one is the one everyone went with, and I don't think the average person even knows he was a regular at Pulse.

I suspect people have a range of motives and drivers, but that doesn't help push a narrative so they just leave certain facts on the cutting room floor to create a cleaner narrative about why so many people have gone mad.

I thought that it had been debunked that the Pulse shooter had known gay encounters and had been to Pulse before-instead the finding after investigation was that he chose Pulse randomly. (I'm queer, if that matters. If this shooter does have a non-binary identity his actions could have been motivated by self-hatred or an incel type situation. So, I agree on the issue of motives in this event, but think there is a lot of misinformation around Pulse.

It hasn't been debunked, exactly. There are conflicting claims that he randomly chose the nightclub and didn't know it was a gay club. It was never settled, and all things may be true. It may be true that the people who came forward claiming to have affairs with him were telling the truth, and also that he chose Pulse randomly.

In general, though, it's kind of disturbing how quickly we look to wedge violent events into a political narrative. People tend to be a lot messier.

No, this is not "the GOP in a nutshell." This is a disgusting, drug addict, porn movie actor, simpleton.

Amazing that you (and the tweeter, whoever that is) have so grossly missed the metaphor - but not surprising.

These people need NOT to be put on TV and given publicity. This is what they want.

Um wow. He is a bona fide idiot. (Not saying that because he’s republican or conservative) Does he have brain damage? Serious question.

It is unclear that the person in the video could form a coherent want.
