These people need NOT to be put on TV and given publicity. This is what they want.

It is unclear that the person in the video could form a coherent want.

Don't give these mass murderers publicity.

He also claimed to be Mormon.

I'm no scholar on Mormonism, but something tells me that many people would dispute this description.

The shooter is a confirmed Mormon.

The Mormon church publicly stated otherwise. Their records show him as being inactive for over a decade.

Your statement is incomplete. They have records of him, but they also show him as inactive. You're intentionally trying to associate him.with Mormonism when his history shows over a decade of being disassociated.

Also, there's just not a lot of violent crime in Mormon communities. So it's not clear where you are going with this. They just aren't gun toting extremist types.

Why is a thread about a mass shooting something that is "political"? Is domestic terrorism "political" or is it something else? I wonder and worry about what we are letting come into the light when there is space for political debate around events like this.

This was a hate crime. It's not a set of agriculture policies that reasonable people could debate over and have different views on.

Can it be a hate crime if it is perpetrated by someone within the same group?

Self loathing doesn't exempt people from hating others and murdering them. I don't think hate crimes are defined by the victims being different from the shooter. I thought it was that they were sought out for whatever trait the shooter hates, even if he shares that trait.

Also, I haven't heard anyone except their lawyer say they're nonbinary.

It's too bad that people are going to try to minimize this because the shooter might be nonbinary. If they are it just means that instead of feeling safe and embracing their authentic self, they took in so much of the hate being spewed toward the community and shot 20+ people. It doesn't mean that there is less hate on the right toward the queer community.

Who are you to question their gender identity? Are you suggesting that they are lying about their LBGTQ status in order to benefit in some way?

I’m a parent of a trans man. I generally believe people when they say how they identify. I question if there’s some misunderstanding or misrepresentation when someone who may be non-binary has a history of hate speech against the LGBT community and commits a mass shooting in a safe space for that community, murdering several people. I also read an interview with someone who knows the shooter and said they never came out or used they/them pronouns around him. I have been respectful of their pronouns since the announcement, although I do wonder about the shooter’s sincerity. If they really do identify as non-binary, this is a great example of how not being accepting of the LGBT community harms both individual people and society as a whole.

The Mormon church has a habit of baptizing dead people who were never even Mormons into the Mormon church. I wasn’t aware that you could fall off their rolls.

It seems you don't want people to see a clip that throws his mental competency into question.

That was just a good guy without a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun. That was to stop shooting in the moment and save lives.

PP is referring to the legal consequences. Beating people in the head with a gun shouldn’t be a possible sentence handed down by the courts, but if that is what it takes for unarmed bystanders to stop an active shooter, that’s fine with me. I’d also like to point out that gun owners are frequently disarmed and have their guns used against them, so here’s a layered example of how guns don’t make people safer. Also, if you don’t want someone to take your gun away from you and beat you in the head with it, maybe you shouldn’t go shoot up a club, and if you do go shoot up a club, maybe you shouldn’t wear body armor that only leaves your head exposed so that’s the only place someone can beat you with your gun after they disarm you.

PP, are you pointing out that the guy was injured to suggest he already had a tough enough punishment? If so, f you. If not, what was your point?

No doubt. He is a drug addict and former MMA fighter - as well as a porn "star." I don't think he was a presence in his son's life. I don't even know what the point of interviewing him was.

According to court documents filed in Bexar County, Texas, the name change was requested because Aldrich, who was turning 16, "wishes to protect himself and his future from any connections to birth father and his criminal history. Father has had no contact with minor for several years." The filing was first reported by The Washington Post.

Can you be a porn star and an active LDS member? (Serious question here for LDS people.)

No, this is not "the GOP in a nutshell." This is a disgusting, drug addict, porn movie actor, simpleton.

So the GOP in a nutshell. If you don’t support Roe v Wade you are clearly a drug addicted former drug smuggling Mormon self identifying mma fighter/porn star. (At least one of his movies was about latinas.)
