TJ Discrimination Case

Anonymous
Curie posted first and last names on their Facebook page. (Since removed.)

They had about 50 kids admitted for the class of 2022, 80 for the class of 2023 and 136 for the class of 2024.

There was discussion in the TJ Vents FB group from 2020 among kids stating that they had seen the test ahead of time. There are also some non-public group chats that are pretty shocking.

Thanks for the "evidence" of this huge cheating scandal. It was clearly "all over the news."

Also, 136? Every time you open your mouth, the number gets larger and larger. The TJAAG report showed 96 kids from Curie accepted in 2020/class of 2024. I would imagine they have better sources than you, although I suspect that Curie listed 134 kids who qualified for TJ/AOT/AES combined, and you're so dumb that you counted all of them as TJ acceptances.

its because of OCD folks like u that snakes like Youngkin get elected.

They wont find funding to expand STEM education or add a second TJ - instead they will make vague references to parental choice and the magic of charter schools.

And oh.. they will offer u prayers and condolences to the next time there is another school shooting.

Yeah.. I dont think even ur friends and family are that short sighted..

Please…democrats are in power! Solve the gun problem. You can have all the TJ seats.

PP has a point. What has Youngkin actually done to promote STEM education?

Yet many did, and it got Youngkin elected. I heard radio ads Youngkin ran against VMPI on a Bollywood station.

VMPI is not the same thing as TJ. I’m a moderate D and I was furious about the VMPI plans. Considered voting R (prior to Dobbs) until VDOE had enough sense to back track on it.

Similar equity based issues. VMPI just impacted a larger group, and got more attention by hitting national news. Even though the same thing is happening and has happened in other states.
Same as the story about not grading homework in Arlington. Many media articles, years after Fairfax and Loudoun already adopted it.

That was the point being made which was disputed by a previous poster.

Eliminated VMPI, a big boost.

I think Curie expanded locations during this time. They are no longer occupying their address near Rt 7 and Ashburn Boulevard.

I don't give a rat's a@@. Democrats are responsible for turning me into a bitter single issue voter. I will not rest until I spend all of my free time actively convincing all of my friends, relatives and neighbors and some already are convinced. Nothing like one on one campaigning that is genuine and personal.

The scandal that prompted the board reforms was that kids were encouraged to memorize exam questions and report them back to Curie. Curie would teach the next group of kids, including the memorized questions from the previous year. This provided Curie with a copy of past exams, which would allow them to teach their students how to prepare for the specific types of questions asked on the exam.

Students and parents sign non-disclosure agreements where they agree not to discuss the test or test questions with anyone else. By memorizing and reporting the questions, the students violated that agreement. By teaching new students using those questions, Curie provided those students with a leg up on the exam because the students had already practiced the questions.

Happens all the time. At least the parents didn't bribe school officials or pay people to take the test or change the scores like many others did.

They bought their kids' early access to gain an advantage. Many complain about the changes, but it comes down to the fact that they could game admissions, and they miss it.

Your constant demonization of "they" is going to come back and bite the Democrats in the ass next year.

These clowns have mismanaged the schools for many years but somehow they think they'll regain support if they throw Asian kids under the bus and toss out TJ seats like candy to less qualified kids at schools with weak peer groups.

Most people don't give a rat's ass about TJ, but Asians live all over the county with kids at many schools and they've heard about the ugly bigots like Anderson, Corbett Sanders and Keys Gamarra.

This again. Stop it, no Asian is going to abandon everything else they stand for and suddenly support Youngkin and his clan over TJ.

Can't tell if PP is actually an insane person or is just making fun of the insanity that would be necessary to abandon all common sense to vote for a party that will promise to protect a very small number of spaces at an elite school but will in fact do nothing of the sort.

It's more than just TJ, discrimination against Asians in college admissions, lack of adequate representation in many aspects of society by Asians and Dems only harping about 1 area to whine about 'over-representations at elite colleges while ignoring under-representation of Asians in many other areas, systematic murdering of Asians in many blue cities and refusal to bring hate crimes charges by woke Democratic DAs, refusal to cover or even acknowledge bl### on Asian hate crime wave that has been going on for over 2 years by liberal media, pandering to other preferred group while crapping all over Asians, crazy out of control wokeness, trans policy etc. etc.

And yet more people die each year because of the GOP's refusal to regulate guns which makes all this moot.

California passed prop 209 banning affirmative action. The legislature tried to bring it back, and this was blocked by some Asian members. In retaliation, some black members started blocking bills by the Asians.

Republicans in the US Senate brought an amendment to ban giving federal funds to colleges that discriminate against Asians. Every Democratic Senator voted no.

The only thing Youngkin has done for STEM education is to “fix” pronouns and bathrooms. A non-issue, just like CRT.

If u support such politicians, its a reflection of ur own pettiness.
