DC itself doesn't have many obese people. In general, cities don't have a lot of obese people. It's the suburbs and rural areas that have a lot of obese people.

Why is it being a snob to notice that many people are fat? I already posted that we were shocked by the number of obese people we saw in upstate NY. Should we pretend there aren't more there than here? There are way, way more obese people in upstate NY than I've ever seen here.

You know what’s strange? People gain or lose weight depending on who they’re around. I’ve seen this so many times. Friends move to a fat city and gain weight. My new neighbors were all very chubby when they came to VA but now each of them has lost 10lbs.

I went to Pigeon Forge once and didn't think it had people walking around who were any fatter than the crowd who goes to Disney World (both crowds seemed porkier than what I see in DC, but not by much.)
